Nikon D3000 SLR Digital Camera 28pcs KIT with Nikon 18-55mm Vr
I started my own photography about 3 years ago and got this camera as my start up. For the price it is perfect for hobbyist and photogs just starting up. It does great outside in the light and is really easy to set up and to learn the settings. The biggest draw back is it does not do well at all in low light. Once you hit an iso of 400 the noise starts and at 800 it is horrible but can sometimes be fixed with noise reduction. It's pretty light compared to some of the other dslr out there but it is a more basic one. Another this I don't like is since it is a cropped sensor your limited to only AF-S lens which are not cheap especially if you are sticking to Nikkor. Right now I am upgrading to the d70 but I keep my d3000 as a back-up and train my assistant on it.
