I have owned the Olympus EP-1, Panasonic GF1, also have a Nikon d90 and canon s90 so I have seen a lot of pictures from all these cameras. First I would like to say the MENU on the NEX is actually pretty GOOD. Yes, like everybody has said it would have been nice to have a dedicated button for iso, w balance etc..BUT it takes literally 1 second and you can change those settings, what's all the fuss about??? I actually find the Nex's menu LESS complicated than the EP1 that drove ME nuts! So..to all afraid of this camera because so many reviews mention the menu is horrible..to them I say what???

What is blowing me away most is the low noise at high iso plus the overall picture quality. I am one of those DSLR people who wants DSLR type quality in the smallest package possible. I admit I am NOT a pro photographer but I can change every setting on my D90 and I know how to go deep into DSLR settings and what they mean. I say this ONLY because the Nex-5 seems aimed at point and shooters moving up the quality ladder but supposedly don't know all that much about settings. Yes, the Panasonic GF1 and Olympus E-P1 seem to give you a "little more" manual control than this NEX-5 does..but it's pretty close..re: controls.

What the NEX-5 does in my opinion is especially in raw format Blow the doors off the GF1 and EP1 as to how much detail you can work with. On the GF1 in raw..often I STILL couldn't get skin tones to look right, shadows in lower light always had too much noise..and I ended up with too many grainy pictures. I am simply blown away with the NEX as to how much detail you can get back using raw...where the jpg may look like a total loss..you can often still get a great pic using raw.

For the point and shoot people..the raw conversion software that comes with the Sony is actually VERY good, powerful and EASY to use. Overall this is a SMALL camera that pretty much takes pictures in the same general ballpark as the better dslrs in my opinion. I think this may actually have less noise than my Nikon d90.

What I don't like..manually you can only choose iso 200, 400, 800, 1600 etc. I prefer a bit more control ala the GF1 where you can choose say a 640, 1000, iso or 1200 iso etc. That being said if you choose Auto iso the NEX Will at times choose isos such as 640, 1000 etc..not available manually.

Some of the gimmicks? like panorama or twilight handheld shooting where the NEX shoots about 5 pictures within about a second actually WORK and I think at times "these can give you pictures you simply can NOT get on a gf1, ep1" etc.

One other thing I am not thrilled about is overall color saturation is bit too punchy or high. This is not a problem as it takes a sec IF you want a bit less color saturation in your pics with any photo editor.

The NEX feels great in your hand. It feels solid as a brick YET seems to weigh much less than the gf1 and ep1 making the Nex easier to take with you!

There is no perfect camera and never will be. In my opinion though..if you don't need to change settings every 2 seconds..OVERALL this NEX-5 may be your best choice right now as far as mirrorless cameras go. Don't forget one huge reason the GF1/EP1 look so much better than point and shoot cams is the sensor size. Well the full sized dslr sensor in the NEX is MUCH bigger than micro Four..hence the lower noise...better overall IQ in my opinion.

UPDATE: The menu system never really bothered me, however, after updating to latest version 03 this Nex-5 is even WAY WAY better. The menu system now is downright EXCELLENT in my opinion. I am constantly blown away by how great this LITTLE camera is. What a WONDERFUL camera overall!!!

Sony 50mm f/1.4 Lens for Sony Alpha Digital SLR Camera

I bought this lens because I needed a "portrait" lens for my K/M 7D when my Sigma 28-70 f/2.8 EX "Pro" lens took a dump on me. The lens hasn't been dropped or anything like that (that I'm aware of) but it suddenly is always out of focus and won't focus at infinity at all ... but that's a problem for the Sigma people, so I digress.

In need of a good "portrait" length lens for my 7D I opted for this Sony 50 f/1.4. I'd had a Maxxum 50 f/1.4 years ago but had gotten rid of it shortly after getting a zoom lens. Big mistake. In any case, because my Sigma lens mentioned above was in need of repair and I had a portrait shoot coming up, I got this lens and I must say it's been a worthwhile investment.

Wide open the lens is tack sharp at point-of-focus. Stopped down between f/2.8 and f/4, doing head and shoulder shots of an average-sized adult the lens provides fantastic portraits ... nice contrast, beautiful color and of course very sharp with beautifully de-focused backgrounds.

I shoot a lot of film with Medium format Mamiyas (RZ67 and 7II) and have very high expectations for image quality. With the purchase of this 50 f/1.4 I realized I've been compromising image quality on my 35mm cameras (film and digital) by using "off brand" lenses like Tokina and Sigma. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that Tokina and Sigma make flat-out junk. Just that I didn't realize that the image quality could be better in my 35mm cameras.

Up to now I'd thought that the sensor in the K/M 7D was just mediocre. And, I'm sure that some would say it still is. But, I'm here to tell you that this 50 f/1.4 proved to me that the problems I've thought were all in the body were in actuality all in the lenses.

I'm in the process of replacing all my off-brand "Pro" lenses with Sony/Minolta and Sony/Zeiss lenses. Today (14Nov07) I purchased a Sony 16mm f/2.8 lens (SAL-16F28) to replace my 17mm Tokina lens. The Tokina lens just doesn't cut it when it comes to image sharpness and resolution. I'm hoping this 16mm will perform on-par with my 50 f/1.4. If it does then the next step is a Sony/Zeiss 85 f/1.4 and eventually a Sony/Minolta 80-200 f/2.8 (to replace my Tokina 80-200 f/2.8 ATX PRO).

I know some people aren't as critical as I may be about image sharpness, resolution and contrast. And for those people I say ... to each his own. But, my experience and expectations are very high and I feel there is no reason to compromise. Spend the extra money and buy the best glass you can ... because it does make a difference.

If you are in the market for headphones at this price point, you are likely looking at both of these models. I ordered both, tried them out side-by-side, and returned one. I kept the Sennheisers.

Let me start by saying that I am NOT an audiophile. I was looking for headphones to use with my iphone, that I could use at work at a reasonable volume without disturbing, or being disturbed by, my neighbors with sound leakage. My previous headphones were the inner-ear style, and I found those to be extremely uncomfortable.

Second, I'll say that both the Sennheisers and the Shures are excellent, from a layman's perspective, and that you really can't go wrong with either. Again, a true audiophile would probably tell you something different, and be able to explain the technical side of why one is clearly superior, but I am not that guy.

So, why did I prefer the Sennheisers? The 2 main reasons are:

1. Better sound isolation. Not just a little bit, but a lot. With the Shure 440s, my wife was able to sing along with the song I was listening to at 50% volume from 12 feet away. Compare that to the Sennheiser HD 429's, and I had to get within arms length before she could even hear a noise, let alone be able to tell what the song was and sing along. Further, I had her turn up the volume of the television until I could hear it through the headphones. She got up to 30 with Sennheisers, compared to only 14 before sound started leaking through on the Shures.

2. Better comfort. This is obviously a personal preference, and will depend a lot on your head size and shape, but for me, the Shures felt like they were going to fall off every time I moved my head. The Sennheisers felt tighter, but not in an uncomfortable way. Just the opposite, actually. Then Sennheisers felt secure on my ears, and like it would be no problem to go jogging or working out in them, if I were so inclined.

2a. As far as long term comfort, I wore them each for 2 straight hours. This was a struggle with the Shures, because like I said, every time I moved my head, I felt the need to adjust them, and tighten them just a little bit. However, despite what is said about the Shure 440 earpads being bad and needing to replace them with the 840 earpads, I did not find the standard earpads to be uncomfortable at all. For the Sennheisers, they stayed comfortably secure the whole time, which I liked. The earpads are soft and very comfortable. When I took them off, I did notice how warm my ears must have been, because they felt cool when in the open air again. But I did not notice my ears being uncomfortably hot while actually wearing them, it was only when I took them off. I also found the padding on the top of the head to be more comfortable with the Sennheisers. The Shures started irritating the top of my head after about 45 minutes.

As for sound quality:

Again, not an audiophile. I tested both sets of headphones on a wide variety of music. I like my music to sound balanced, not to heavy on the low end or the high end. The Sennheizers seem to deliver more bass than the Shures. A bit too much on some settings, actually, but by using the "Acoustic" setting on the iphone equalizer, the Sennheisers sound very well balanced to this layman. For the Shures, I found the "Classical" setting to be the best. But you can play around and see what works for you.

Both sets were easily run by my iphone, without use of a headphone amplifier. But, with the better noise isolation, I was able to keep the volume lower with Sennheisers.

If there is one area where the Shures have a clear advantage, it is the wire. The Shures use a thick, coiled wire, like the one that connects from the base of a telephone to the handset. The Sennheisers have a just a long, thin, straight wire. It feels a little flimsier than the Shure wire, and might wrap around something without you even noticing. So, both wires give you the same range of motion, but the Shures do it neater, if that makes any sense.

TL;DR: The Sennheisers are the choice for me. They lost one star for the wire. I would rate the Shures at 3 stars, knocking off 1 for sound isolation and 1 for comfort. But like I said before, that comfort thing is highly subjective. Overall, the sound quality is equal. It is just a matter of finding the right setting for your preference.

Both are great choices for the price point, and I'm sure you'll be happy either way, but for me, the Sennheiser HD 429s hold a slight edge over the Shure SRH 440s.

I am an amateur photographer (a member of my local camera club) and an avid camper/hiker/canoer/outdoorsy type. My primary interests in photography are wildlife and landscapes, although I will occasionally do architecture (esp. ruins) and every day people shots. I bought this camera + two-lens kit directly from Olympus during their 2011 summer sale, and I have to say I am extremely happy I decided on this purchase (I was considering a Nikon D7000 and others at that point). It was $900 when I bought it (taxes/shipping incl.), so this is a great price considering what you get.

The image quality (IQ) is incredible and has astounded my professional photographer friends time and time again. My mom and sister both own a photography business, and both shoot with expensive, high-end, much larger Nikon DSLRs. Two other friends, who are top-notch (international award-winning) photographers who shoot with various DSLR cameras from Cannon and Nikon are also in the same 'boat', but one of them had bought the EPL-2 just two months before I did (and he only buys the best photography equipment with the highest IQ). He claims he will never take his larger DSLRs with him on a trip again, and the other friend has finally been converted to the MFT (micro four-thirds) as well (he is now on the market for the EPL-2 or -3). My mom keeps trying to steal it from me and I'm going to have to buy her one too.

This camera is excellent because it is light-weight, compact, *relatively* affordable (when you consider the cost of many mid-high end DSLRs), and competes VERY well with the more expensive cameras' IQ, colour rendering, white balance, ISO (you hardly get any noise even at the higher ISOs!!!), and even their numerous functions/shooting options. Although new and unable to do everything everyone could ever want (which no camera can do), the MFT technology is definitely the way to go for any amateur photographer or professionals looking for a smaller package with the same quality as their primary or secondary camera. Also, the kit lenses are surprisingly good, and you don't need a macro lens (good thing, because there isn't one only a converter) because the 14-42mm lens offers just the right depth of field for either every day shooting or close up shots.

I only gave this camera a 4 and not a 5 for two reasons: first, as I am coming from a DSLR (primarily Nikon) circle, I find the organization of the menus and manual sometimes confusing, although as I continue practicing with the camera it's finally becoming second nature; also, the price of such small items can sometimes feel like I could be purchasing many other items for the price of one lens, and there are not many options out there just yet (but this is changing rapidly). That being said, I am not a professional and so I'm pleased with the options for me I have the two kit lenses and the Panasonic 100-300mm, I purchased the Olympus 9mm-18mm wide angle M.Zuiko today (after testing it in-store), and I will soon be adding the Oly 25mm pancake lens.

I have just finished packing for my first safari and I must say, I am amazed that I can pack the all my lenses (equivalent to the range of 18mm-600mm of a full-frame camera), my camera body, charger/batteries, cards, a small Sony video camera with all its items, my filters, two notepads+writing utensils, the VF-2 viewfinder, a tripod (which is the heaviest item) and a few other things (i.e. cleaning products, wires) all in a small camera backpack that combined weighs less than 12 lbs!!! My mom's Nikon D2X and her 80-400mm lens ONLY are just over 6lbs, and my one friend who is now on the market for and EPL has asked me to carry his 600mm lens through the airport because I have an extra item I can carry in-hand and he's already overstuffed. Of the 24 photographers who are coming on safari, I will be the envy as far as packing is concerned.

Overall, I have what I need and I am consistently amazed by the quality and overall value of these products. I HIGHLY recommend this kit to those who can afford it!!!

It is made out of aluminum. Light enough to carry around the whole day yet still very sturdy. The aluminum ball head actually performs well. Once you've got the desired angle and lock it in place, the camera will stay on that angle until you release the lock unlike my 20 usd tripod. Im using a d80 with 18-270mm lens attached. That's about 1.2kg weight. The tripod is rated by the manufacturer to handle up to 13 lbs of equipment. Other features are a quick release plate, 2 bubble levels ( one on the head and the other on the legs), user replaceable aluminum tripod head, a threaded weight hook and spiked feet. The tripod can also converted so you can take macro shots. The legs can be locked in position independent of one another. With all these features plus great performance, this tripod is a steal!

One minor hiccup, the plastic on the leg clamps, while not cheap, isnt top of the line. But they get the job done so it a no issue for me

I was debating between the Nikon D7000 and the D3200 to replace my worn D60. For the money, I am delighted that I chose the D3200. It's light weight, and quiet.

The tutoring menu is more for beginners, and it has many pre-sets to take creative shots easily. Love the 24MP, and find no noise even shooting at 6400 ISO.

I bought it to shoot stills, but it has excellent HD video with slow motion.

You do have to run manual with the older lenses, but that has only caused me to up my game.

It's the most excellent DSLR value currently available!!

Trust me, if you want to save your video and pictures then DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CARD! I tried to rate this 0 STARS, but Amazon wouldn't let me.

We purchased two of these cards for such a great price only a week ago. We needed extra memory for our camcorder (Sony HDR-CX150) and a higher end digital camera (Nikon D7000) that we were taking on a trip. It would have been better to have nothing than to have these worthless cards.

The first day we tried to watch the 20-30 minutes of video we had recorded just to have the camera say the memory card was not formated. I was disappointed, but just figured we had messed up, and we still had about 100+ still pictures of the day (I thought). The next day was fine, and then when I went to look through some pictures on the Nikon the next morning I noticed I was missing everything I had shot the first two days and part of the third day; yes over 300 shots that were just gone. During that day I tried shooting and then reviewed the pictures. Three seperate times that day the pictures just vanished into the memory card. The video camera: you guessed it all the video we took (over 3 hours worth) just disappeared. Needless to say this has been THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT EVER as far as any memory card problem is concerned. When we got home (30 minutes ago) I ran a data recovery program on the card, and got nothing.

I will say that if you could get 32 GBs for $40 that would be good but ours never held more than 1 GB before erasing itself. The write speed didn't seem to be class 10 because when I tried to shoot in continuos mode for my Nikon I could only get about 5 shots before it quit shooting; I get the same results from a class 2 card I used when I first purchased the camera, and I get a little better results with a class 4 card I have put back into the camera after getting rid of this one. Overall this card was unusable as you may have read. In summary this has been the worst puchase ever, and I've already got my return label printed out. SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND BUY SOMETHING RELIABLE!!!

So Im a professional photographer, at my studio we use a nikon, But I recently wanted to start branching out on my own, so I wanted to buy my first dslr. :)

After much thought and deliberation I decided on the T3! Its a wonderful camera, and is more then enough for me, and the family, senior, weddings etc Ive been doing!

This kit was the perfect price, I couldnt have found a better deal! I love everything in this kit. except 1 thing, its a minor thing cause it doesnt really affect me, but the Tri-Pod is Very Flimsy and when I went to put my camera on it, the tri-pod was broken, even if it wasnt broken I wouldnt trust putting my camera on there. Luckily I have a better durable tri-pod! :) Like I said nothing that affects me :) Definitely a purchase I will not forget!!! :) if you would like to see some examples on how the camera photographs for portraits.. you can visit my website.

This review is aimed at people who are new to photography, as I am in the same boat. There are much more thorough reviews on Amazon for people who are already serious photographers.

General Impression:

Wonderful camera gives you control of parameters (such as f/stop, ISO, shutter speed) when you want to play with them or get creative and will auto-select them when you just want to take pictures. This was important to me as I am still learning to adjust them to my liking but don't want to miss out on pictures because I'm fumbling around with buttons.

Construction/Feel:

After going to Best Buy to physically hold the Canon T3i and Nikon d5100, I immediately decided on the Nikon. It felt much better in my hands and just looked better in general. Both were fairly light which is nice but also means they are made from quite a bit of plastic not a problem though as this keeps the price down and I don't drop things.

Controls:

I have been pleased with the placement of the physical buttons on the camera as well as the menus. I mainly shoot in the A, S, and M modes and the little wheel you turn to adjust the shutter speed/aperture is right where your thumb falls. If you're in M mode, there is an aperture button to hold down just behind the shutter button which is also easy to reach with the camera up to your eye. Lastly, the Fn button can be programmed to control the ISO level so you can hold it down while spinning the wheel to change that without putting the camera down. I have heard people complain that the Live View switch is annoying to get to but have found it intuitive.

There are a few controls that I wish were changeable without having to dig through a menu though. For instance, to change the focus mode from area to single point requires you to have the LCD screen turned around, then press the I button, then scroll around to change it. This is the case for a few other things like metering, shutter mode, etc. I can't really complain, though, because those are features that go on a serious photographer's camera that costs about twice as much as this model.

Auto Focus:

The 11-point AF on this camera has been a dream to use. I almost always keep the camera set to single point servo autofocus so I can select the point I want it to focus to. As long as you have some contrast, it is very quick and accurate to focus. This camera does not have a build in focus motor which means the lens must have it built in. As a result, older lenses or those build for the professional Nikons may not allow for autofocus. This hasn't been a big issues as most of the lenses I would want already have the motor built in, and if they don't, people survived for a long time manually focusing it probably builds character. I was torn between getting the Nikon 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED AF-S DX Nikkor Wide-Angle Zoom Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Camerasand Tokina AT-X116PRDXN AT-X PRO DX 11-16mm Ultra-wide Angle Lens for Nikonand ended up sticking with the Tokina even though it would not autofocus on this camera. I haven't had any issues with focusing manually with it as the ultra-wide angles are easy to focus anyway.

Noise:

A lot of the reviews I read before purchasing this camera talked about how well it shot in low light I would have to agree. Looking at pictures from my old point and shoot at ISO 800 have horrible noise while I can shoot this at 1600 without any, and can go up to 3200 with only minimal touch ups in Lightroom needed. This has to be the single biggest advantage of digital over film being able to change ISO on the fly and still being able to get great pictures at ISO 3200 is wonderful.

Image Quality:

I won't offer too many opinions in this section, but I have not seen anything but great quality in the RAW pictures I've taken. Basically I understand that if a picture doesn't come out right, the fault lies with me and not the camera. The camera is capable of much better pictures than I am capable of taking. When I do everything right (which is becoming a little more frequent) I am amazed of the result. Great colors, great contrast, low noise, etc.

Battery Life:

I purchased an extra battery before I went on a few business trips just in case, but ended up never being close to needing it. The battery just lasts and lasts and never seems to drain. For instance, last weekend I took 381 shots (some using live view) and the battery meter was still at 75%. No complaints in this department.

Flash:

The built in flash is pretty puny, which seems to be par for the course. It does provide some nice fill lighting if you're outside taking pictures where there are some shadows on your subject, but for shooting inside it's marginal at best. I bought the very reasonably priced Nikon SB-400 AF Speedlight Flash for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras and have been very pleased with the combo. The external flash adds the ability to bounce light off the ceiling and not waste the camera battery while doing so. This camera does not have the Nikon flash commander ability, but I don't think that should be expected in a camera at this price point. If I ever start buying 3 remote flashes for studio shooting, there is a good chance I will have already upgraded cameras.

I'll end by saying that this has been an absolutely wonderful camera to learn to shoot on. Before I purchased it or started shooting, I ordered and read two books,Complete Digital Photography, 6th EditionThe Digital Photography Book, Volume 1 so I would have some clue what I wanted in a camera. They are both wonderful books and should be required reading for all new photographers.

As a disclaimer: up till 3 months ago I was never in to photography, never owned an SLR and never had any real interest to. So know that everything I say in this review is based on very little experience.

I bought this unit for my daughters car because the Volume on her OEM radio crapped out. It took about 3 weeks for the radio to arrive. The installation was very straight forward. The connections are plug & play, so it was very easy. Installation took less than 1 hour including removal of the OEM radio.

Bluetooth worked flawlessly, the microphone for the phone was very clear and music played wirelessly from both Android and Iphone.

Navigation system worked well. The signal was strong and the system was relatively easy to use.I didn't install the camera for backing, but I'll keep it around in case I want to install it in the future.

It was probably a stupid thing to do, but I'm glad I did it. I'd been looking for a new camera for a while, but no matter what brand or price of camera, the reviews all had a few negative comments that made me reconsider my purchase. So when Amazon posted the Olympus Stylus SZ-16 for advance purchase months before it's release, I decided to take a chance no reviews meant there couldn't be any negative ones.

I'm really very please with the camera the zoom is amazing, the shutter is fast, it does really well in low-light situations I've rarely need the flash. Plus it has some fun features, for taking "dramatic" or "pop art" photos. Also has setting for fireworks, sports, and two pet modes (Camera automatically snaps a pic when it recognizes the face of a dog or cat I mention this because this feature amuses me, I haven't tried it yet.)

Way back in high school I bought a Pentex SLR which I used for years, and took great pictures, but it was difficult to lug it, plus the lenses and flash around, and when digital came along, I switched to point & shoot. My pictures where never as great as those taken with my SLR, and I had assumed that I had lost whatever "it" was that helped me take great photos. With my new Olympus Stylus, I have "it" back. Turns out that the right equipment helps make a great photographer. (And how lucky are my all my Facebook friends to be regularly treated to my awesome photos? Actually, I'm appreciative of their indulgence of me.)

My one little quibble is that the USB cable port is behind a small door on the side of the camera that has a rubber hinge. I'm not optimistic about that hinge lasting the useful life of the camera.

The recorder works well all features pretty much as advertised. Motion detection recording is great. The event log or date time range box to find past events took a little getting used to vs. just a vcr screen type scroll back thru old recording date and times. But it makes sense after some use. During playback its odd if you are in 4 camera screen or one camer view and the camere that had recorded activity reaches the end of its recording fo rthat period the view goes back to all 8 cameras, so you have to reselect one or 4 camer view when playback for the desired camera resumes would rather have a blank screen and the time counter continue running or skip to the next recording event for the selected camera.

The remote web viewing is really quirky, IE7 blows up at some point almost everytime I am viewing remotely. On my laptop the remote screen does not always size correctly so the controls on the bottom are cutoff no scroll to get to them, and the "power" button is cutoff so task manager is the only way to end a session. On my local network desktop the screen size is ok and it blows up less often. Configuration should have an option to not require a password to close the remote viewing session, its just annowing to enter a password to quit remote viewing every time.

I've had this model for about 6 months now, so I've used it enough to give an informed opinion by this point. I bought this only to capture memories of our kids growing up. I did not buy this for extensive or special editing, special effects, etc. I just wanted something that is good quality, is 1080 HD, etc. where I can watch our kids growing up and capturing memories. I am pleased with this camcorder, and offer a few comments for those considering this model:

1) I have no complaints about picture quality it works well for what I need, under indoor and outdoor conditions.

2) Very easy to use open the screen and it comes on and boots up quickly.

3) It's very light compared to my older Sony Handycam (which used tapes). Sometimes I think too light and somewhat cheap feeling, but everything has gotten so small now, I guess that is the way of things particularly in this price range.

4) I selected this model because I did NOT want internal flash memory like the next model up (the 210). If the internal memory were to go bad in time, I would rather it be a card that I can throw away rather than having something go bad inside the camera. I can always get a new card. The next model down (the 190) does not have the touchscreen input, nor the spot-focus, nor the HDMI cable to connect to your HDTV.

5) VERY IMPORTANT Sony (and some other manufacturs too I think) have what is called "Direct Copy". What this means is that I can connect my portable 1 TB hard drive straight to the camcorder, and not need a computer. I can then access all the videos on the hard drive in full HD and connect the camcorder straight to our HDTV with the HDMI cable. So over time, you can use the portable hard drive to store the videos, and use the camcorder to access them and play them on the HDTV using the camcorder software. I cannot stress how important this is, at least to me, because this solves the storage issue and eliminates the need for a computer or laptop in-between, and not having to use special software, etc.

Not all hard drives will work. I use a 1 TB Western Digital My Passport, USB 3.0 Western Digital My Passport 1 TB USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive WDBBEP0010BSL-NESN (Silver). Also, you must use the Sony cable VMCUAM1 Sony VMCUAM1 USB Adapter Cable to connect the USB cable to the hard drive. If you don't use the Sony cable it won't work, even though the ends may fit properly.

I have a 32GB card, which good for about 6 months give or take. What I do is transfer the videos to the hard drive, and then back up the hard drive using our network storage.

Anyway, I don't mean to get too wordy about this but this really is a big deal and I think it should be noted. Not having to have a computer is a big deal, IMO. As long as you don't max-out your memory card it doesn't matter, but once you have too may videos for the card to store, that is when this matters the most.

Note that two other reviews here talk about the built-in projector. The CX200 does NOT have this feature.

I would certainly recommend this, and I would purchase this again.

Great Laptop. During the first week it had a software problem that caused the mouse and keyboard to randomly freeze. Apple fixed it with a software patch already. Since then its been working perfectly.

I love this camera! The medium format is probably my most used and adored film format and this camera can do just about anything. B&W, color, whatever! It's also a pinhole, which is fantastic because you can have color pinhole photos and have one or two on a role and just keep switching it out. I highly recommend buying some of the other lenses that go with this but come separately. Also, I purchased the ringflash, which adds another dimension to your creative capabilities. If you get the 35mm attachment, you're really in business! Yes, it's a bit expensive (these cameras originally sold for literally pennies when the first generation came out decades ago) but what you can do with these cameras is worth every modern day dollar!

I did not buy this product through Amazon. I purchased it directly from HP the day it came up online.

The tablet portion of the slatebook is almost perfect. There were a few minor bugs (no in app purchasing, notification bar would freeze) but all of these were fixed through an update that was waiting for me when I opened up the packaging. The screen is excellent (though the colors do not pop as they do on a Samsung tablet) and performance is very smooth. the cameras are both sub par, but will be fine in good lighting. The look and feel of the tablet suits me perfectly (though i seem to be in the minority that prefers plastic to metal). Though be warned the plastic is not textured the way the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is. It feels VERY plastic. It does feel rather robust though. No flex whatsoever. Android is perfectly suited for tablets. I can work my way though menus options games and apps very easily. I got 9 hours of use before the battery ran out (moderate to heavy usage with app downloads)

The laptop tablet combination aspect of this product leaves a lot to be desired. The keyboard is cramped (though very workable as I am writing this review on it rights now) and the docking mechanism seems cheap. The touch pad works smoothly and the gestures work in much the same way the do in Windows and OSX. That being said it does not offer the superb accuracy you get with Windows and OSX. It is a usable but sloppy experience in comparison. Be warned that the touchpad is very wide but also very short. Its usable and much better than touch pads 4 years ago, but won't compare to touch pads on current laptops. Also sometimes apps do not like it when the tablet is unlatched from the keyboard. It is best to do that when Android is on the homescreen. Overall the keyboard is a great accessory, but falls short of providing a laptop like experience. I got 17 hours of use before both batteries ran out (moderate to heavy usage with app downloads).

Overall this is a great tablet and the included keyboard accessory does its job nicely, just don't expect a laptop like experience. It is much more like using a keyboard with a tablet. As a tablet this product gets a solid 5/5 and as a laptop it gets a weak 3/5

Overall 4/5
