Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've spent that last couple hours playing with the projector and am impressed. I wanted a projector for photo club presentations that would give us a better color accuracy than our aging unit. This does. The auto color setting is quite good, if a bit strong on yellow. By running a color calibrator (ColorMunki Photo Monitor, Printer & Projector Profiler), I was able to get very nice color accuracy. Obviously, a projector won't have the gamut (color range) of a good monitor, but this MegaPlex MG-850 is a huge improvement and more than good enough for our needs.

There are a couple bonuses that come with the projector. One is built in speakers that are actually loud enough to be heard in a meeting room. The amplifier in the unit will over-drive the speakers so you'll need to balance volume and clarity, but within a reasonable range it does pretty well, for meeting use. I'd say it's the equivalent of a $40-50 set of external computer audio monitors. For home theater use, you will probably want to connect it to a higher quality system.

Connectivity is the other special feature. I plugged in my iPod Touch and ran a photo slideshow with music. It just worked. There's a slide-out tray that has an iPod/iPad/iPhone jack. The tray easily holds my wife's iPad with no strain.

Next, I connected my laptop with a USB cable. Again, it just worked. I then tried it from a HDMI cable, then a RGB cable. All worked off my MacBook. No problem with Apple products that I can see. It also supports composite cables, which I used from our DVD player. There are the expected audio out ports too. It will also show photos or video off a USB thumb drive. That will greatly simplify letting members share their photos at club meetings.

One unexpected bonus is a microphone port. I plugged in an old Sony mic that was laying around in my attic, and it turned the unit into a portable PA system. I guess you could also use it for karaoke, (Shudder) as the microphone works over music playing through the projector.

There is no video cable included with the unit. With all the connection possibilities that the projector offers, that's not surprising. Which would you include? Anyway, that's just a heads up thing.

The included remote works fine. The projector has a number of projection modes that alter the lamp intensity. With a maximum of 2800 lumens, it will work nicely in a normal room with the lights on, but probably not a brightly sunlit room. That's not a problem we see often in the Pacific Northwest. In default mode, the projector will adjust intensity for ambient light. Nice.

Refresh seems fine for action video viewing. Contrast is excellent. As I mentioned earlier, color is very good. Fan noise is about average. There's an angle adjustment, that should work if you can't get quite 90 degrees to a screen, and a mode that is supposed to color correct for displaying on a green chalk board. I didn't test that.

The unit is large by modern standards, coming in about the size of 10-12 year old unit. It's bulky, but not quite as heavy as the old projectors. There's no way you're going to get this in a briefcase. It has a built-in handle but no case. You'll have to carry the remote and power cord separately.

I'm more than pleased with the projector. We'll probably be hosting movie nights at our place. ;-)

From my research, this is the largest capacity battery that is compatible with the iPad. It will definitely come in handy on long trips. I used this yesterday with my Sony Portable Speaker dock, which has a crappy 1 hr battery life if you put the volume to the max (i use it for outdoor sports) I leave the Mili plugged in with it, and it played for over an hour, the Mili still had 90% battery life! This device will definitely come in handy

I am a professional that uses Canon L lens only and was using Canon Teleconverters both 14x and 2x that I use extensively without a Problem. But, I have decided to go with the Tamron SP Autofocus 2x & 14x Pros.

Why? I have done extensive testing on the four teleconverters and have found that there is no noticeable difference beween like teleconverter. The only exception is the Canon's are heavier and longer and protrude into the lens but are not any better than Tamrons. Another professional friend of mine also looked at the results and was equally surpised.

Tamron's will work on more lens as they do not protrude into the lens like the Canon's do. Remember that lens will only auto focus if you are f8 or less (bigger)lens f-stop. If you add a 2x to an f4 lens it will not autofocus. I manually focus when I have a long telephoto lens on to get out to 800mm but this means with my f4 lens it is really now f8 so requires manual focus. Tamron has a very good little manual that explains all of this. Good luck, Howard

I just bought this apparently lovely product but had to return it because it lacks any type of audio output. I has neither digital nor analog audio output, not even a headphone jack. There is no way to connect an external sound system to the TV as you need to if using cable feed directly to the set. I see no other TV with this deficiency. The TV salesman at Costco had never noticed this and was, like me, shocked by the absence of any output connections. The comparable Samsung 42" has both digital and analog audio outputs. It costs $75 less.

I just have to briefly review this laptop to put some of the bad reviews at bay. I just got this baby yesterday and it has blown me away. The screen is brilliant, the speed is unreal, and the 3D is awesome. Even the speakers are top notch. I'll gush more about it later, first I want to let future buyers know the few minor quirks:

Yes, the secondary hard drive makes a small clicking noise. However, what you will want to do ANYWAY when buying such a rig, is replace the PRIMARY hard drive slot with a solid state drive (I used a 240GB Intel 520). THEN, put the original primary drive (the hybrid one) in the secondary slot. Now, enjoy face-melting mind-bending speeds without any clicking noise. Now your boot time is maybe 10 seconds with a fresh windows 8 install.

Yes, battery life is very short. It is not unexpected with such a powerhouse of a computer. If you need to go more than probably 2 hours without an outlet, this beast is not for you. This is not an ultra-portable machine. It falls more in the desktop-replacement category.

Yes, you can watch your 3D movies (even MKVs) with this laptop. You will probably want to follow a brief tutorial (google iradar mkv 3d nvidia) on using an application called Stereoscopic Player. Choose "Sensio" in Layout settings and "NVIDIA 3d Vision" in playback methods. Make the video full screen with your glasses on and enjoy. Nvidia also offers an application to play 3d video.

I will update this review with any other notable findings that have not been mentioned by other reviewers.

UPDATE 1: I have been casually using the laptop for a couple weeks now. I want to note a couple cool things. The "Qosmio" on the back of the screen glows red in the dark which I JUST noticed. The screen is REALLY bright. On maximum brightness, it is brighter than my 58" plasma TV which is on vivid setting. The laptop has not gotten hot like I thought it might, even after hours of watching 3D video. However, I have not tested the temperature with intensive gaming which could produce different results.

I think it is important for future buyers to really consider the size of the laptop, as well as the massive charger when considering this machine. It is considerably heavier than the average laptop, weighing in at 7.5 lbs. You will almost certainly need to carry the charger as well, so add another 2 lbs. More to come later.

I have owned this lens for a year now, wanted to wait to give it a review until I got through all the sport seasons. This lens has really delivered. I didn't like it on my Sony a200 because, quite frankly, the lens was too good for the 200. I use it on my a700 and wow..... the extra megapixels coupled with the abilities of this lens is remarkable. I had purchased the Sony 70-200mm at a significantly higher price and was less impressed. I didn't do all my homework before purchaseing that lens and found that the Sony version did not have the seals (for dust, weather, moisture) that the Sigma has. It was a no-brainer.... the sigma is far better for the money. If you have an a200, it still is a great lens but I feel that camera can not take full advantage of the features of this lens, otherwise, get this lens, it will be the last telephoto you purchase at this range.

Pros:

Super fast auto focus

Speed, F/2 at 200mm!!

Unbelievable perfect 10 Images!!

This lens WILL get you attention

Otherworldly image stabilization!

Great build quality weather sealed

Fantastic perfect buttery smooth Bokeh

What a lens case! More like a high quality hard cover suitcase

The absolute best in-door concert and event lens ever created!

Cons:

Heavy and huge

This lens WILL get you attention

This is a lens cap; you gotta be kidding me! It won't fit with hood in ready to shoot position only in stored position!

Ok, what lens bag can I purchase to have this lens and my camera and the hood extended in a ready to shoot position?

Assembly:

I've always lusted after this lens and finally have my hands on one but there are a few things you don't think about. Probably like when you first win the Lotto and purchase your first Lamborghini there will be some details not in your dreams. The case was smaller then I expected but is very nice having very high quality aluminum build with lock and carrying handle (see photo I uploaded). The case even includes a set of two keys; not that locking it would do any good if the thief knew what was inside. The first thing you notice upon opening is the strange lens cap and hood assembly. The lens system takes some assembly to get ready to shoot each time since you have to remove this strange weird leather with a draw string lens cap, unscrew the hood attaching screw and reverse. If you buy and like to shoot at a moments notice you will want to purchase a large quality photo bag.

Mounting and setup:

Mounting the lens is almost a mount the camera to the lens affair but not quite as you can still do it either way. It feels a little fat and a little bit heavy if you are coming from say a Canon 70-200 F/2.8 L or 100-400 L lens. If you are used to those two lenses you will have a similar feel at first except that the hood is pretty large on the end making the lens seem bigger then it is and it's a little bit front heavy in comparison. If you are coming from smaller lenses you are going to say holy cow this thing is huge! If you have just used a Canon 500mm f/4.0 L IS then you are going to think man this lens is very light and even hand hold able. But I say handhold with caution as my back was aching after an hour of use. For extended portrait sessions I would suggest using a monopod. And it has an excellent tripod ring with perfect tensions knob and spring loaded detents when rotating. When using without the monopod or tripod I have found it's best to keep the ring rotated upside down as it makes a good carrying handle and if you also rotate the lens hood upside down so that the tightening knob is on top the entire assembly lens camera and all will sit pretty flat.

Controls:

All the controls were for me well placed and I rarely touched them. The manual focus ring is perfectly placed and perfectly dampened and you will never need it. Auto focus on this lens is blazing fast the fastest I have ever experienced.

IS off switch, leave it ON! Unless you are shooting birds in flight or maybe trying to track a football player just leave IS ON. It even knows when you mounted it on a tripod and continues to work well. More about IS later.

There's a 2-position focus limiter switch that limits the minimum focus distance to 11.5' (3.5m) to infinity. Forget that! You don't need it. This lens focuses so fast from minimum to infinity it's a non-issue. So just leave it set to 6.2' (1.9m) so you don't end up forgetting and wondering what the heck is wrong.

Preset focus system, there is a focus record Off On Record button on the control panel and preset go to buttons near the end of the lens. Don't worry about them, you won't need them this thing is an auto focus lighting bolt!

Stabilizer Mode 1 and 2 buttons, 1 is for vertical and horizontal and 2 for horizontal panning only. This system works so well and so much better then my old Canon 100-400 IS L that I just leave it in the 1 position no matter what I am doing and it's just fine. On my Canon 100-400 IS L I have to turn if off when panning rapidly as it can't keep up and produces a dark area in the exposure sometimes. I could not get it to fall behind no this lens, like I have said before the IS on this lens is the best there is!

Image Stabilizer:

Otherworldly, insane, impossible, rare, perfect, out of sight, crazy, what other adjective could I possibly use to describe the most perfect Image Stabilizer (IS) I have ever used. You can get crazy and get all the way down to 1/15s and still get sharp shots although for consistency I found 1/30 second to be more like the actual limit.

Image Quality:

You probably thought I would never get here. Remember those adjectives I just used to describe the IS earlier. Well they all apply here. Image quality taken with this lens with a high-end camera such as a Canon 5D Mark II are: Other-worldly, insane, impossible, rare, perfect, out of sight, crazy.

They are so perfect I'm sure for the first time I am seeing what this sensor can actually do. I thought I was seeing everything with my Canon 85mm F/1.2 II L lens stopped down to F/4 as it's been the sharpest most resolving power lens I have used so far on my Canon 5D Mark II and I thought it didn't get any better then that. Well not so, the Canon 200mm F/2 IS L lens blows it away! You will see every eyelash, every pimple, and every defect, but also every lovely feature of each person's face when you use this lens for portraiture. It's as good wide open at F/2 as the 85 at F/4 and gets even sharper and clearer at F/2.2 and even clearer at F/2.5. After that the only thing you get is a little more depth of field, which you just might need as at minimum focus distance wide open the depth of field or DOF is razor blade thin.

It's so good in fact that higher ISO shots which didn't show noise or very little noise in out of focus areas are now showing noise. At first I thought I was seeing things but after going back and looking at 3200 ISO shots with other lenses on my 5D Mark II there is very little noise. But the resolving power of this lens shows every little thing including more noise at higher ISO's. But shoot at 50 to 200 ISO and the photos are impossible to describe. The little JPEG's samples you can download off the web do NOT do this lens justice. Pixel peeping 100% exploration with the original RAW files is not a must to truly appreciate. And speaking of JPEG's make sure you always shoot in RAW and process using Canon's Digital Photo Professional (DPP) or you won't be seeing what this lens can really do.

Bokeh:

Oh my GOD! Nothing prepares you for it, you get back to your high def computer screen and pop up the first images taken with this lens and the Bokeh takes your breath away. So buttery smooth you wonder how it's not an optical illusion. So perfect people will ask how did you pull that off in Photoshop and their mouth drops open when you say it's all from the lens.

DOF:

The depth of field or DOF on this lens is so well defined on this lens it looks like someone drew a line and said BOKEH on one side and RAZOR SHARP on the other. At the risk of over using this statement I've never seen anything like it.

Sharpness:

I like my photos sharp. Sometimes I am asked why so sharp. Because I like it that's why. With my other lenses I end up either leaving the sharpness in the middle or adding some. With this lens especially at F/2.2 or F/2.5 you can slide the sharpness down to 0 and its sometimes still too sharp for portraiture!!

Attention:

This lens will get it. Almost everywhere you go people will talk, stare, and ask questions even more so then with my other white L lenses. This could be good or bad. Good for your ego but bad if you don't like answering the same questions over and over. I personally like it and use the time to hand out my business card and chat up potential customers. Think of this lens as part of your advertising budget.

Conclusion:

It's heavy on the pocketbook, and it gets heavy on your back and shoulders and it attracts attention. But if you want to see what your very high-end digital camera or film camera can really do there is only one way to see it. Buy this lens. For all the positive reasons above I am highly recommending the Canon 200mm F/2 IS L lens if you can afford it. If you shoot quality high-end portraits or need this focal length for in-door sports you can't go wrong.

4-17-2009 Update:

I'm falling in love with this lens, head-over-heals in love. The tripod mount is fantastic, easily adjusted and has spring loaded detents every 45 degrees making it easy to rotate from portrait to landscape without messing with your tripod and to rotate to the upside down position for carrying by the mount.

Just got back from a model photo shoot at the park the park I usually go to. And... I thought my Canon 100-400 IS L lens and 70-200 F/2.8 L lens got attention. But they have absolutely nothing on this lens! Not ONE person was unaffected by it's presence! Everyone either had a comment or question or was very quick to jump out of the way and say excuse me during the shoot or had to simply stop and stare. I never handed out so many business cards or answered so many questions. Typical questions were "How far does it shoot?" and "What do all those buttons do?" If you crave attention this lens is absolutely for you. If you crave fantastic image quality this lens is for you. It's a little long for portraiture on a full framed sensor and probably too long on a cropped sensor camera. But I love the compression the 200mm provides and find it worth it even if I have to use hand signal to my model.

4-25-2009 update:

Just got back from an in-door band photo shoot and I must say this is where this lens may be at it's absolute best. If you need the 200mm reach and F/2 speed and super IS to get a shot in the dark at a concert, play, etc then there is no real alternative with the closest lenses being the 135mm F/2 (no IS and shorter focal length) and the Canon 300mm F/2.8 IS L (longer and 1 stop slower).

Alternatives:

Don't like the large: size, price and/or weight of this lens, but want 85 to 90% of this lens sharpness and usability for portraiture and / or in-door sports? Try the Canon 135mm F/2 L lens. This is a fantastic lens that I still use to this day especially when I want a lighter stealthier lens. No it's not quite as sharp and no it doesn't have IS but it's very light, small, stealthy (black) and it cost's less then 1/5th what this lens costs.

I purchased this headset to replace a broken BT500V, that I'd used every day for the past two years. When this arrived, I was so surprised on how light it was, and how clear the sound quality. Everyone I've talked to so far swears I'm not using a Bluetooth headset and they can't tell when I'm outdoors or in the car with the window down.

Pros:

Very lightweight (almost too light)

Very comfortable (worn it 8-12 hrs per day so far, and hardly notice it is there)

Volume is good, but could be a bit louder for me. Volume buttons are easy to find and push.

Charging is by STANDARD MicroUSB connector. Finally, I can charge my phone, headset, and dozens of other devices with the same cord!

Answer/End button is where it should be... on the end of the boom (just like the BT500V)

Talk-time is per manufacturer specs. I talked on it for just over 6-hrs before the "low battery" warning was heard.

Audible Warnings what a perfect idea... now I don't have to worry if my headset will last through a conference call because I get warnings in my ear when I have approximately 30-min of battery left.

Stand-by time has not been tested fully, but I expect it to be right on target.

On/Off switch is an actual switch! Finally, someone used their heads and got away from the dreaded push-and-hold button for on/off.

Light does not blink all the time... which is a good thing for the car so my kids don't complain about the flashing light. Light only comes on (steady) when you are on a call.

Headset appears to be smaller/lighter version of the BT250V, which is/was very durable and flexible, not like the rigid parts of the BT500V or 5020 Executive model. I still have a BT250V, and use it as a back-up (although battery doesn't hold charge too long, but what do you expect after 5-years of use?).

Cons:

Foam microphone cover makes it a bit harder to find/push the answer/end button, but I'll get use to it.

Very light if you are not careful, you'll knock it off or NOT be wearing it when you think you are! I've already "pushed thin air" to try to make a call more than once!

NO VIBRATE FEATURE I know if it had vibrate, it would be heavier and larger, but hey, in very noisy situations, you can't hear the ring-tone. The vibrate feature of the BT250/500V was what made the units "special" (and worth the extra ounce of weight).

Overall, I am very pleased with the fit and function of the Wave Headset. I've tried other brands and styles, but Jabra has everyone else beat on comfort, function, sound, quality, and durability of their headsets. If you're on-the-fence regarding Jabra products, try one... buy one... you'll never go back to Plantronics or Motorola!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is such a fun little system! Now, first, there's some confusion when reading the name of the item... Black/White. There's... Nothing black and white in this setup. Only grey cameras with a grey DVR with color picture.

I had a lot of fun setting this system up. Everything is more or less common sense, except when it came to the power cable for me. Once I realized that each camera requires it's own power source IN ADDITION TO it's video cable, things went smoothly.

If you're using this in a home application and your provider has your port 80 blocked, you're gonna have a bad time. But, if you know how to work around this with port forwarding you should be okay.

The interface is VERY user friendly. Recording is instant and continuous (if the camera is reading a picture, the DVR is recording it!).

There are multiple ways to view the cameras, all one one screen, one at a time while flipping through images, you can shut the displays for certain cameras off (it'll still record, you just won't see it while scrolling through cameras automatically). The only thing I wish for is a keyboard. Life would have been so much easier with a keyboard.

Still a very fun system to work with and it has a great nighttime picture, but don't let the HD fool you... It still pretty pixelated.

I fell in love with the S550CA-DS1T model because of the specs for a reasonable price. However, when I saw this laptop and found myself with a bigger budget than I had planned originally, I jumped on it. Intel Core i7 is an amazing CPU and I am so happy that this laptop is equipped with such a big memory and RAM. It is entirely necessary for my photography hobby. Creative Cloud works wonderfully on this laptop. I am a college student and needed to find a laptop that would be from a reliable brand and included the very specs offered by this laptop. I feel that I sacrificed the SSD that was found in the S550CA-DS1T, but in turn received an extra 2 GB of RAM and a newer processor. I had my doubts, but even without the SSD, the boot time is speedy and there is no lag between functions and transitions to other programs using the Windows 8 shortcuts.

It is very fast and extremely fun to use. Windows 8 is exasperating at times because I am still used to Windows 7 and XP, but I am happy that I will be challenged to learn and soon master the new OS.

I have had this laptop for only two days but am already extremely satisfied with its performance, appearance, ease of use, and components. The sound is crisp and unexpectedly loud. I was afraid that I would noticeably trade screen resolution for the touchscreen capability, but media and webpages are very clear and easy to read on the screen which appears to be bigger than 15.6 in. I love the fact that it has an optical drive in case I ever need it. The keyboard was said to be less responsive than most and too crammed, but I find myself typing at my average speed with no extra weight added to the keys. The number pad was a definite sales point for me, but I am sad by the lack of backlit keys. The only other drawback to the keyboard is that the laptop is a bit elevated which makes for an awkward wrist position, but this is not something that a change in posture can't remedy.

My family members, after seeing and witnessing the sheer awesomeness that is this laptop, want to trade theirs in for it. I highly recommend it!

So let me start off by saying I rarely write reviews on here but I use them quite often when making a decision on whether or not to buy something. I bought this TV from Vann's, and it came with 2 pair of 3D glasses for free. Amazon use's Paul's TV as the primary seller and they are a very good company as well, so purchasing this TV through Amazon would have been my first choice, but Vann's had the better deal at the time.

My TV arrived via Fed Ex freight on April 21, and I immediately un boxed it and put it in my bedroom. This TV is replacing an Vizio 37" 1080P LCD which was working fine, but I really wanted a 3D set!

Initial Physical Impression was WOW. Very Sleek looking, much thinner than my Vizio, nice sturdy swiveling base, and has an almost Dark Cherry Touch of Color to it, which I was unaware of prior to purchasing but looks great with my Cherry Bedroom set.

Performance: I have the TV hooked up to a PS3 with the most current software (3D Capable), and Panasonic BDT-110 3D bluray player (Was a gift) and a Directv Hr-21 3D capable DVR Receiver. All I can say is WOW. The PQ is amazing, the blacks are Inky dark, there is no motion blur when watching sports and all this from a 720P, budget 3D TV! I have not any gaming on the unit yet, as I am nearing the end of the break in period, but I have been doing a TON of 3D Blu Ray and TV Watching. I must say that the new Bluetooth 3D Glasses from Samsung are great! This unit came with 2 free pair, and they retail right around $70.00 each. They sync with the TV quickly and I have yet to lose signal during a movie.

3D Performance: I have now watched about 10 3D Blu Ray movies on the TV and have seen zero Crosstalk/Ghosting. The picture looks at great in 3D as it does on standard bluray but with the Added 3D effect. You can even convert 2D television programming to 3D, while this is cool, it is not as in depth as original 3D Material (Blu Ray 3D or Directv 3D).

In conclusion, this is a great tv for any price. I am sure if you wanted to you could nit pick a few things (Mostly the adequate speakers) but overall I am very pleased, and I will be picking up a Samsung PN64D7000 to replace my current non 3D TV in the living room!

I got my 60ex700 yesterday and I am really happy with it. It is a great TV. There was a little flashlighting and uniformity is not perfect but it seems you can tune it quite a bit. There are an amazing amount of settings and I have it set to be more than acceptable for me. Great price on a great TV. Contrast is great with deep blacks and white whites. The motionflow is great also.

Furthermore, the sound is acceptable for normal viewing and much better than I expected due to all the people dissing it. I have a nice theater 5.1 setup but I don't want to use that for everything and the sony sound is just fine.

Netflix and internet stuff is great, the remote is fine. This technology is getting so good we are really picking nits at this point. I just hope it is engineered to be reliable and long lasting because I intend on having this in my living room for the next 6-10 years.

I am sure you can spend a lot more and buy a better TV with better picture quality but for this price... killer TV.

The only downside is the TV is so damn thin and light that I feel nervous holding the bezel when I have to put in the inputs. It is solidly built but it just looks so fragile.

I'll be honest, I bought this for its looks more than anything else. But it's also a relatively solid projector. At smaller projection sizes (say 30-40" or so) it's bright enough to handle ambient light. Once you get into 90"+ you have to turn off the lights to see anything.

The battery life is pretty solid, I got through two episodes of Doctor Who last night and still had 25% left. And the USB port is capable of powering a Chromecast dongle so it's a pretty portable wireless streaming setup. Miracast honestly isn't all that useful. I tried streaming video and never got more than 30 seconds before it started stuttering for 5-10 seconds.

In the end, you really have to like its looks and portability above functionality. For just $70 more the PA75U is a much better deal, 50% brighter, Smart TV functionality built-in and 3D capable as well.

shipping was great! everything was sealed and boxed unopened thats also great! i love the camera as well as the canon itmes which was only the lens that came with the camera and the 55-250mm lens. but the rest of the itmes are different brands which was not stated. not to sure how good of quility they are but they look pretty legit. thats my reason for love-like i love some itmes but yet like the other times. but other than that its a great deal even if its all not "canon" brand think positive. aloha and mahalo!
