I love this lens. I upgraded it from the original 12-24 mm version. It is as robust and reliable as the previous one. It works perfectly even a 123 °F (in the Death Valley).
A negligible remark is about some vignetting effect that shows wide open in certain conditions of direct sun light illumination. The vignetting is only present in the top extreme corners of the photo and can be remove by a little crop.
Having some more tele (from 24 to 28) allows taking it on the camera for longer periods while avoiding the switch to longer focal lenses. I use it with my Nikon D300. Absolutely necessary for any experience with landscape photographing.
