This is my first studio light. I was lusting after the Westcott TD6 Spyderlight but it was more expensive than my budget would permit. I was not attracted to any of the cheaper alternatives available at Amazon (i.e., Cowboy Studios lights, etc.) because it sounded like there was a lot of plastic involved in the mounts. So, I looked at the Alzo 600-EX and it looked like a happy medium. It turns out it is much more than that. This light is solid in construction....all metal body and mounts with ceramic sockets. The softbox is nice and the stand is pretty good (not anything like Manfrotto quality, but very workable and stable). This light is very bright and the color of the bulbs is really nice (I don't know the exact temp but they look to be very close to daylight balanced). I think this light is a REALLY great deal. It is a quality light and the price is fantastic. Mine also came with an attachable grid for the softbox (that was something I wasn't expecting). I would highly recommend this light to anyone looking for a continuous lighting solution.
