I was mainly looking to start Dslr video recording. This is not just made up of cheap third party stuff but has a lot of canon's accessories. For video it is more important to have primes, and although this 50mm 1.8 is more like 80mm on this crop-sensor body, yet for the cheapest way to start out it is a fantastic deal. It has a transcendent card, class 10, which for video is important. Overall a good package, and a way to avoid that cheapo kit lens 18-55mm. It is surprising, for this price, how close you can get that Hollywood look: just open up the aperture of the 50mm, getting some good background blur, and you have one of the cheapest ways possible to make your video look like a movie.
