The Canon waterproof housings for the G-series cameras are fantastic! They are relatively cheap as housing go--brands for other kinds of cameras can cost 2-4 times as much. I've owned Canon G-series cameras with underwater housings for the G-8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and now the the G1X. I've been on many dives with them and had other divers drool over them including some very advance divers especially once the find out what a value they are.
They are easy to use, but you have to follow instructions carefully. A Camera under 2-3 atmospheres of pressure will be ruined in a second if the seals fail.
This is a great camera, housing and a super value if you dive and want to take easy-to-use pictures underwater. This isn't professional grade gear but it's great for what it is.
