Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This tripod is definitely one of the best I have used that is designed specifically for video work. The panning is exceptionally smooth, and the large feet, weight and balance of it make it one of the most stable I've seen. Other reviewers have covered the bulk of its features well, I'll just comment on a few things that I would have liked improved.
1. I did hope I would be able to use this for photography as well when using large heavy lenses, but the panning/tension is just not able to be adjusted to a speed appropriate for photography. I guess this is a tradeoff to make it ideal for video work, but a perfect tripod for me would be one where I could adjust the tension even lower than this tripod head allows. This may vary according to your needs however, if you do things like portrait or landscape work where panning quickly is not necessary this tripod would still work nicely.
2. I did not always find the controls the most intuitive and needed to refer to the manual sometimes to figure them out. With regular use this will be less of an issue, and it may just be that I'm not used to a tripod of this quality and the controls on the ones I've used have considerably different (such as the vertical tilt) so I found them somewhat confusing at first.
3. I would have liked the center column to lock better without having to screw it tight. Having to carry an allen wrench just to lock the center column is kind of annoying but necessary in this case.
4. The case is adequate but not particularly roomy.
5. I found it somewhat difficult to spread the legs the maximum needed to shoot from low positions. This is a nice feature to have (for instance if I want to shoot at POV for babies, pets, etc.) I just wish it was easier for me to do.
These few issues aside, this is a really superb tripod, and I rate it at a 4+ as using it once it's adjusted and in place is definitely a joy.
