The dlink DCS-6010L is a fisheye cloud based ip camera boasting a 2 Megapixel camera.

The good:

-Quick to get video setup after registering to a my D-Link account.

The bad:

-Video quality on iPad, iphone, android tablet, android phones, and their website for cloud based access only allows 400x300 or 640x480 resolution. This is because their cloud based software for devices and phones does not support quality resolutions over what was commonly available in webcams in 1997. The camera supports better resolution (1600x1200)if it is accessed over the lan using an ip address. Sadly their cloud based my-dlink is an inferior plug in play product in this respect.

-Recently D-Link updated their mydlink mobile software which completely made their software incompatible with this device until they fixed the glitch they created two weeks later. They could do updates like this again.

-An included Microphone & speaker are built into the camera. But the microphone hardly picks up any noise from 10 feet away even with adjusting the gain. The speaker sounds muffled and is barely audible from 3 feet away (also not a feature in mydlink cloud based software).

-The cloud based mydlink website & apps do not allow for controlling camera angles

-The built in 802.11 wifi antenna on the DCS-6010L is rather terrible. I have tried access points 40 feet away and signal is lost to the device. Currently I have two wireless repeaters in the same room to keep internet to the camera.

-Camera uses a proprietary AC adapter with ample length. Nice cablebut when the camera needs wifi connection re-setup you have to physically connect the camera to a wired network to re-configure wireless. Therefor any staples attaching the AC power adapter have to come out every time you need to adjust wireless settings. It is not simple to get an additional AC adapter for maintenance of the device.

-No power over Ethernet. Clearly this is stated in the description of this camera. But it means anytime you tinker with the physical camera you also need to unstaple that AC adapter to the wall/ceiling.
