First of all, this is not a full review (people already did great jobs in reviewing the older model P300) this is more like a comparison between p300 and p310 because I had a hard time until I've settled on this camera. The choices for me were (P310, Canon s100, Olympus XZ-1, and of course the older model P300)

I don't own and never used the Nikon p300, so I can't tell if the p310 worth the extra 70$ but am going to mention the added features to the p310 and you decide for yourself :

16.1 megapixels instead of 12.2. Some might say it will produce more noise, but in my case I didn't face any issues with the 16 megapixels, no noticeable noise at all. And with some added features such as noise control of 3 different levels (which is also not available in the P300), then I don't think you should be concerned at all trust me.

fn button (This is customizable, allowing you to assign a frequently used camera setting to it rather than having to dig through the camera menus.) I use it to give me access to ISO settings.

Vibration Reduction V2 (which is an enhanced version of the one available on p300) so far I didn't get any blurry pictures even when am driving a car.

one more mode has been added to the dial on top (which is `U' mode, you can for example go to manual settings and adjust the shooting mode, aperture, shutter speed, etc and save them to the user mode for next use) It allows you to save only one preset, but you can always reset of course.

Manual focus (yes the p310 has manual focus, p300 doesn't) You can also use the manual focus during video recording.

ISO range (instead of 160 to 3200 in the p300, now it's 100 to 6400)

3D mode (this feature has been added to the "scenes mode" it allow you take 2 pictures from two different angels and then the camera will produce a 3D photo that is viewable on 3D TVs.

That's all I guess

The camera is really nice and takes sharp and crisp pictures, as you know most of the cameras take good photos in day light. However, the real challenge is when shooting in low light and when it comes to low light this camera is SICK!! I took some pictures in extremely dark places and the camera never let me down. I took some photos at night with ISO 1000+ and still no noticeable noise!

A small hint: never use `auto mode' when shooting at night, use either "landscape mode" if you want to shoot buildings, etc or "night portrait" scene if you want to shoot people at night with background (requires flash) or Aperture priority and of course there's always a manual mode.

To my experience so far, the best mode for night shots is "Night Landscape". When you choose it you'll be provided with two options:

1Handheld: In this scenario the camera will take 5 consecutive shots very quickly in just 1 second, actually you will hear the sound of the lens taking five shots. The output is nice but a little darker with no noticeable noise.

2Tripod: This is the second option and when you choose it the camera will first set the vibration reduction to off, and then it will increase the shutter speed to around 2 or 3 seconds I guess, depending on the situation. The output is tremendous. So when using a tripod with this mode YOU WILL NEVER miss a shot at night believe me.

Cons: I gave this camera 5 star because the Cons are not a deal breaker for me. So here we go:

1At first, it might be hard for you to hold the camera, turn it on, etc because the buttons are so close to each other. However, one day is enough for you to adapt.

2Zooming while recording video is EXTREMELY slow. I usually don't zoom while recording so it's not a big deal for me but it might be for others.

3Still no RAW like its predecessor.(probably all of you already know that)

4Charging cable like others mentioned is not a standard USB cable.

Hint: you can go to ebay and buy a wall charger with two extra batteries for 14 bucks.

Generally, for under 400$ this camera is a winner in its class, if you're willing to spend over 400$ you can look for the Canon S100 or Olympus XZ-1. (I've checked them both) The Olympus has some focusing issues + video quality is terrible, the S100 has a common lens error + the flash will pop up automatically and it's located exactly where you put your left finger, so I ended up buying the P310)

In conclusion, I've dealt with many P&S cameras and all I can say is that this Camera is meant for..well, like the title says "Photography in the Dark"

I bought this package deal through Amazon recently. I wanted a Canon camera because of the great service and reputation of Canon. I haven't used the camera much as yet. I was primarily updating the technology, Previously I had a Powershot A85 which served me well (and was brought back to like new condition by a warranty repair) since 2004.

The Camera:

I love the new camera so far, the large LCD screen is a blessing for my old eyes. The anti shake capability helps my primary biggest weakness when handling a camera. I also find the physical size of this camera works for me better than the super tiny cameras presently on the market. The logical design of the buttons and knobs makes the camera easy to use.The SX150 has significantly better low light functionality and the pictures reflect this. My only complaint is the SX150 like my A85 is hard on battery life, but unlike my A85 the SX150 has only two AA batteries to draw upon instead of four. Additionally the battery/charger combo was defective initially from the supplier ZeeMO.

The package accessories:

As I said above,I bought the package to replace older technology.I immediately had to clean the outside lens as it had a smudge on it,(messing up the focusing optics). The batteries (Zeikos) even though they say they are 3100 mAh are weak compared to other Ni-MA batteries I have purchased which have lower current ratings from national manufactures such as Energiser. The charger is a international adaptable charger, which may come in handy when we go

to Italy. The camera bag and memory card are sufficient.

Although it took two attempts to get ZeeMO's attention on the defective battery/charger combo, I think the package deal was worth the effort to purchase for me, with a camera I highly recommend!

I'm a very enthusiast amateur hobbyist photographer and I used this on my Nikon D3000. I read all the time that everyone should get a flash, the on camera flash is never good enough; but of course i always thought my cameras look great(comparing to point and shoot). Over the last few months I've been looking for ways to take better pictures, i picked up a 35mm dx fast lens and it made a world of difference but while taking christmas pics I noticed there was never enough light so I decided to get a flash and after research settled on this one. let me tell you this flash is amazing; I uploaded the picture of my two year old that I took using this flash here so you can check it out yourself. that picture was taken with no lights on and one window partially open 15 feet away.

I have to say that I have read a bit about flashes prior to purchasing one and understanding guide numbers and how they are used, ttl, etc. I also looked at prices here on amazon, B&H and other random sites as comparisons and for the money I thought this flash was my best option and I was not disappointed. I have not seen any other flashes at this price or lower that performs as well as this flash.

As everyone said the one downside to the flash is the high charge time, however you can compensate for that with the proper batteries so after doing more research on the right batteries I bought Energizer Ultimate L91BP-4 Lithium AA Battery 4 Pack and it cut down the charge time to literally about 2 seconds.

this is a great flash and anyone looking for one in this price range should definitely look at this, being that Sunpak does have a history of making solid flashes plus the price point and performance I simply see it as a no-brainer for anyone in the market and on a budget. Before I ordered this one i added the SB600 to my wishlist hoping to buy it in a few months but I honestly don't know if i'll need to after using this one. That being said I don't do paid events and I only shoot for myself, friends and family.

I bought this lens as my 6th 50mm lens. Granted 3 are Canon mount and the other three are Sony Alpha mount. I bought it because it was said to be sharp wide open and it is! The only other 50 that is so is the Canon 50mm f2.5 [quasi] macro.

I love the color, contrast and sharpness of this lens on my A700. It is fast focusing and hits more than any other 50mm that I own. It is way more reliable than the Canon 50mm f1.4 for sure. From f2.8 on the Sony 50mm f1.4 is its equal and the Canon version is close. I choose this lens over my cz24-70mm f2.8 mostly due to the superior DOF and low light capability.

The only thing about this lens that might be a draw back is that it only only goes up to f16. If I need higher than that I have to use my Sony 50mm. Usually, I rarely go beyond f11.

I would recommend this lens to to anyone looking for a fast focusing, sharp and reliable 50mm.

Before I start the review, I am just beginning to learn the features. The zoom is excellent in bringing things in the distance closer with clear, concise photos but if you are close to a very small item like a "peeper" (frog) which is tiny and needs enhancement, well the photo's were muddy. If I remember to push the button to release the flash, then the flash does an adequate job if the room is dark / low light. I use a background light that is strong to get the best effect since the flash alone in low light can sometimes leave a shadow. Low light photographs without the flash do not come up with clear pictures if using automatic settings at least with my understanding of this camera and may improve with more use.

Manual settings are effective and generate pictures similar but not quite like a DSL. But then this is not a DSL and shouldn't be expected to perform as such. I tend to gravitate in recent years to cameras with automatic settings. I noticed that while using the automatic settings that the camera will automatically pull out peoples faces but if they are at different distances from each other, some faces will be clear while others will not. I haven't tried the 3-D feature or panorama. The automatic settings (there are two) will sometimes take multiple pictures to combine into one picture on it's own. It does take a little longer sometimes to process the picture before readying itself for the next. There's probably a reason that it will process slowly on some pictures and not other's in the same lighting with no movement but it seems arbitrary.

I put it at 15 mega pixels since I list items through auctiva which does not easily accept the 20 mp. The nice feature this camera has is the option allowing one to take 20 mp, 10 mp and 5 mp, vga, 15 m and 2m. HDTVs and printing up to A3+ (13" to 19")is 15 mp and 3 mp. Although I have read that the 20 mp is not a true 20, it certainly provides clearer pictures than my Canon IS which is a 14.5 mp. The movie function appears to work well on facebook if HD is pressed before playing the video (on facebook) but really does it's best with a tripod which is not always an option.

If you buy the camera without a kit, the camera will only have a computer connected charger and not one you can plug into the wall which was a disappointment. The card-reader does not look like the picture (short and black) and the battery is not an OEM Sony battery. The editing software that comes with the camera is inadequate. I'm not a professional photographer but editing is very important. I use Picasa 3 which is adequate and best of all; free. The tripod works but not the quality I use. The 32 gb memory is adequate but not the best memory card for movies/video. The bag is compact with compartments for accessories and helps to protect the camera while traveling. The other items in this kit are helpful and helps to stop the nickel and dime costs for each of accessories one would purchase.

NOTE: I used the Blue Yeti Microphone to record this Video Review

Blue Yeti Review Summary

The Blue Yeti is an excellent plug and record USB microphone that has dramatically increased the quality of my voice recordings. It has a solid & sleek build, is easy to use, and most importantly clearly records my voice.

Introduction Who I am and how do I use this product

My name is Antonio and I own and operate ATailoredSuit.com; I have been using the Blue Yeti since February to speak with clients on Skype and to record podcasts and videos about men's style and custom clothing. Prior to owning the Blue Yeti I used the Blue Snowflake for one year; before that I used the built in microphone on my computer and headsets. For the last 6 months I have been looking at purchasing the Blue Snowball; when this microphone came out I decided to make this purchase instead.

Pros Things I Love

1. Sound Recording Quality The most important quality in a microphone; from my limited 30 day use and when compared to the past types of microphones I am used to (Blue Snowflake, Logitech Webcam 9000 Microphone, Various Headset microphones, Built in Computer Microphones) this Microphone beat them all.

2. Plug and Play I have seamlessly used this microphone on 3 separate computers, one running XP, the other Vista, and on a Windows 7 machine. In each case it was immediately recognized and clearly marked as the Blue Yeti

3. Simple Knobs and Design Mute, Mode, Headphone Volume and MIC Gain Control. Stand can be tightened and microphone removed.

4. Solid Build Overall, Solid (One small complaint below). The 10 foot USB cord was a nice touch.

5. Playful Approach Blue has decided to present the Yeti in a playful manner. They appeal to the creative and make the manual much more approachable for those of us not technically inclined.

Cons Things I am not happy with

1. Size It weight 3.5 pounds and stands 1 foot high I am used to this now, but be prepared for a big footprint!

2. Looseness of Volume & Gain Controls A small complaint, but for an overall solid device these feel like they will be the first things to break.

Final Recommendation

The Blue Yeti is an amazing microphone that was well worth the investment. It has already dramatically increased the quality of my voice recordings and I recommend it to any podcaster. I give this product 9 out of 10 stars (5 out of 5 for Amazon!), my only knock that the price maybe too high for some.

The innovative H1 lets you switch from manual or autofocus, and accepts digital backs, like the Leaf Valeo 22, letting you switch between digital and analog shooting. In the past, many professional photographers have shied away from auto-focus cameras, complaining that the slow speed of the auto-focus let valuable shots slip away. Quite often it was simply quicker, not to mention more reliable, to focus manually. The H1, however, offers lightning fast, super-accurate focusing under almost any conditions, guaranteeing that even the most fleeting of instants can be frozen accurately and clearly. And the auto-focus features an instant override function, enabling easy access to manual focusing without leaving the auto-focus mode. And under the sleek outer casing of the H1 lies a lightweight, high-strength aluminum core surrounded by a solid stainless steel housing ensuring reliable and durable performance under even the toughest of conditions and for many years to come. In addition, the H1 s central lens shutter design enables virtually vibration-free exposures at even the longest shutter speeds and makes the H1 capable of flash-synchronization at all shutter speeds, up to 1/800 of a second. Specifications: Type: Auto-focus, auto-exposure SLR camera Image Format: 6 x 4.5cm Focus Type: Automatic or manual with instant manual focus override Film Back System: Digital or film back for both 120 and 220 film types Light Metering System: Built-in, multi-mode system Drive Modes: Single and continuous Shutter Speed: Electronically controlled lens shutter with speeds ranging from 18 hours to 1/800 s including Band T-mode. The reason this lens is selling for less than the same item listed at http://www.amazon.com/Canon-50mm-1-8-Camera-Lens/dp/B00007E7JU/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1350244710&sr=1-2&keywords=canon+lens

is because the item here is a direct import item (What is commonly referred to as Grey market. Meaning, it was manufactured with the intention of sale in a country other than the USA.

The seller stated in an email to me:

"There is no restriction on a retailer to purchase these items for sale in the US. However, manufacturer's, by way of serial number tracking, are aware of which models were intended for sale in the US, and thus often refuse warranty service on the imported model.

In lieu of the manufacturer's warranty on these imported products, Unique Photo offers our own warranty to support what the manufacturer will not, so that the customer can make their decision with piece of mind. This warranty would be for a period of one year from date of purchase (limited to manufacturing defects)."

Therefore, if you trust the warranty of the Unique Photo Team to be identical, or as good as, the one directly provided by Canon, you can buy this lens, an imported item. Personally I prefer to spend the extra $10 to obtain a warranty directly from Canon, as I have had no prior dealings with The Unique Photo, and have no basis to think that their one-year warranty can compete with Canon's one-year warranty.

Unbelievable camera.

What else I would say?

The Pentax K-5ii is significantly more compact than similar Nikon and Canon cameras while offering more options and features. It is a well thought out, digital photography tool. There is something special about using a high quality camera, the feel in your hand, a solid mechanical sound, the way it comes to your eye. This camera has all of it. And hey, you get to use Pentax lenses, the best glass in the world.

Warning: This camera is arguably the best in the industry to date.

Samsung Galaxy S4, White (Sprint)

Samsung Galaxy S4, White
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

UPDATE#1: The battery life seems great, better than on the S3 even though the screen is larger and has a higher resolution than the S3. When I had my S3, I used to lose about ~3-5% of battery every two hours or so but with the S4, I seem to lose about ~1-2% so that's awesome. The phone comes with a ton of bloatware and the only way to get a good battery is by removing all the bloatware. I was getting terrible battery life when I first got my phone but after reading online it seems that everyone suggests removing the bloatware for batter battery life. Like I said in my review, the snapdragon 600 uses very little battery when it is not being used so that's a big plus. I'm a heavy user and when I say heavy user, I mean heavy user. I do pretty much everything on my phone from taking a crapload of pictures/videos, watching YouTube videos, playing 3D games, phone calls and surfing the internet. At the end of the day the phone has about 30-35% of juice left. Also, one thing that I forgot to mention was the speakers on the phone. Samsung decided to move the speakers which used to be at the top near the camera on the S3 to the bottom of the phone which wasn't a good idea if you ask me. You can block the sound coming from the phone when holding the phone with your hand.

----------------------

It's been a week since I got my Galaxy S4 and this thing is super awesome. My previous phone was the S3 which I loved to death and this time I'm super excited to have the S4 in my hands. I had absolutely zero issues with the S3 but the S4 looks so sexy with the metal edges. I seriously don't understand why people buy an iPhone because let me tell you that the Galaxy S4 blows the iPhone 5 out of the water and every other phone out there. The Galaxy S4 wins hands down in every category compared to the iPhone 5. I was blown away by the performance of this phone. The Snapdragon 600 is blazing fast and uses far less battery than the S3. I can get through the day with a single charge and still have 30% left at the end of the day. I'm a heavy user so this says a lot about the phone. Even my family who loves the iPhone is blown away by this phone. My family just loves the big screen and the customization that it has compared to the iPhone 5. There are many reasons why I decided to go with this phone over the other smartphones on the market but the main reason is the screen size, camera, storage, processor and the battery life.

These are some of the things that the Galaxy S4 has over the iPhone 5 and other high end phones:

Pros:

-Screen: The Galaxy S4 has a nice 5 inches Super AMOLED HD screen that makes everything stand out when viewing it. The resolution on this phone is a nice 1080 x 1920 (441ppi pixel density) which makes everything look sharp. The Gorilla Glass 3 is also much better at preventing the screen from cracking and scratching. I tried to scratch the screen with my car keys and nothing happened to the screen, impressive. It has a significantly higher resolution than the iPhone 5 (640 x 1136). Also, the iPhone 5 is only 4 inches which is way too small for most people.

-Android OS: This phone ships with the most up to date version of Android, Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) which is the fastest Android version yet. Samsung has added many new features to TouchWiz which is great. I'm not really a fan of TouchWiz but it seems that they have made many improvements to the UI.

-Design: The design is sort of the same as the S3 which I have no problems with. The S3's design is sexy and very comfortable to hold in your hand and the same goes for the S4. If you loved the S3's design then you will love the S4's design even more, trust me. The phone feels a little bit lighter and thinner which is great. It has a nice feel to it that makes you want to hold the phone.

-Camera: The primary camera on this phone is 13MP (4128 x 3096 pixels) and the front camera is 2MP that takes some of the best pictures I have ever seen. The front facing camera is great when you are Skyping or even taking pictures of yourself.

-Battery: Samsung has decided to improve the battery capacity in S4 to 2600mAh that can easily last a full day with a single charge. I can get through a day with a single charge and still have 30% left at the end of the day. The battery life is one of the most important aspects when deciding which phone to buy for me because I travel a lot and I need a phone that can last a full day. My previous phone which was the S3 needed at least 2-3 charges to last through a day. The Snapdragon 600 does an outstanding job at using as little battery as possible.

-Storage: With the option of an external sdcard, this phone simply destroys the iPhone 5. I can store as many pictures and HD videos as I want and it will never come close to being full. I am the type of person who stores large collections of pictures, videos, and movies and this phone lets me do all of that easily. I also play 3D games that require a minimum of 1-2GB of space and this phone is perfect for that.

-Processor: The Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 (Quad-core 1.9 GHz Krait 300) does an amazing job at keeping this phone lag free and blazing fast. I have never experienced a slow down with this phone. I have even tested this phone by playing intensive games such GTA Vice City on the highest settings and there were no slowdowns whatsoever. I am very impressed with the processor in this phone.

-Removable Battery: Who doesn't love this, seriously? This and the option of an external sdcard make this the best phone of the year. I always carry extra batteries whenever I travel somewhere and I can easily swap my battery with another one when the phone is low on battery. This is a big plus for this phone. Sucks to be an iPhone user!

Cons:

-None. As much as I want to think of something bad to say, there's simply nothing negative about this phone.

Overall, I can safely say that Samsung has another winner in their hands. It's a great phone and it doesn't disappoint. With the amazing 1080p resolution, screen size, battery capacity and storage, this phone puts other phones to shame. The Galaxy S4 will be the best phone of 2013, mark my words!

I use the Moultrie picture viewer to read SD cards at my dozen or so game cameras (mostly Moultrie game cameras) on game trails and feeding sites out in the Minnesota north woods. Because I can view game pictures and videos at my cameras, I can make adjustments to camera locations, positions and settings based on pictures taken. The images on the Moultrie picture viewer are bright and clear, even in bright sunlight (which is more than I can say for other SD card viewers I have used in the past). I can copy pictures or video clips to a second SD card in the viewer if I want to save them or study them later on my computer. As anyone who uses game cameras knows, reviewing pictures from a game camera is like opening presents on Christmas day: there are nearly always great surprises. While I started out looking for big bucks, the real joys and surprises come from the bears, bobcats, turkeys, and other assorted wildlife that pass by my cameras and are photographed. The Moultrie picture viewer just adds to the fun in the field.

The only problem that I have ancountered so far seems to be battery life. While Moultrie has greatly improved battery life in its game cameras over the last five years that I have used them, the four AAA batteries in their SD card viewer seem to run down too quickly. But this is a small criticism for an otherwise very handy field tool.
