I ordered this Drift Ghost package from Cameta Camera and the price, speed of shipping, and packaging was good, Kudos to Cameta Camera. The Drift Ghost is decent enough, I haven't found critical problems.

The issue I'm having is with Drift Customer Support. It is non-existent. My specific problem is that I ordered a Drift packaged external microphone from another Amazon vendor that was listed as compatible with the Ghost, even on the package itself. It was not compatible. I then ordered a microphone directly from the Drift website, incorrectly assuming that they would sell me the correct product. Surprisingly, it was the same incompatible microphone. The end connector is too small for the port in the Ghost, and it's not the product as shown in the photo on the Drift website.

Drift forces consumers to enter support tickets, so I entered a ticket on July 15th. I didn't get a response until July 26th, which was after I filled out the Amazon evaluation of my purchase with the details provided in this review. Marc in Customer Support said to ship the microphone back to them, I did and they received it on August 9th. Still no response from support and now it's August 13th. I've updated the support ticket twice, but to no avail.

Sadly, I cannot recommend purchasing Drift products due to my poor customer support experience. I suggest using other products by GoPro, Sony, or others that have a proven track record of quality customer support. A quick and simple solution should be available for my particular issue: Ship me a compatible external microphone. If it takes this long for that solution, I must assume that more difficult problems would take even longer to resolve.

*** 8/24/13 Review update ***

I called Drift again on Monday, 8/19/13. I didn't expect a support rep to pickup the phone, since they had never previously picked up, however I was pleasantly surprised when a rep with an obvious British accent picked up on the second ring. I explained my support problem to the gentleman (Rubens) and gave him my ticket number. He looked it up and was seriously empathetic to the length of time that Drift took to respond. He informed me that the US support had been extremely poor recently and thus they had made changes which included terminating employees and adjusting the support protocol. It sounded as if US support was now, at least temporarily, being handled from the U.K.

In any case Rubens understood my precise problem with the microphone and he immediately shipped me a new mic, in addition to an unrequested extra accessory for my troubles. I have since received the shipment. This response by Drift has caused me to change my opinion about Drift 100%. They recognized the poor support issue, and successfully resolved it. I now recommend Drift Innovation products and support. Thus I've changed my one star rating to five stars.
