Hard to find this product anywhere else except Cowboy Studio. I live near Dallas so I felt OK buying a product I couldn't find any reviews on. I'm a first time DSLR Flyer so i'm new to the concept.
Considering I'm new to flying, the price point was perfect. It's a light rig and easy to use. The quick adjustments made it easy to learn how to balance my rig. one BIG thing is the mounting plate. I prefer this mounting plate with it's easy adjustments over the GlideCam's cheese plate. The plate on the CowboyStudio rig saves a lot of headache.
Depending on what i'm doing, I may use up to all the following:
Canon 5D Mk II
Cannon 50mm 1.4
Rode VideoMic Pro
Zoom H4n
When I'm not running with all my equipment, I use use my camera body, lens and VideoMic Pro. I use the two large weights on the bottom.
While I'm running or adjusting anything, the rig stays balanced when returning to original positions. Nothing seems to come loose causing an unbalance.
The rig is very similar, if it's not the same equipment, as the Wondlan Carbon Fiber stabilizer if you're looking for more information.
I've had no issues with the rig and it works well for me. Balances well and takes my footage to the next level. I'm very happy with the rig.
To mount the H4n I bought a 15mm Rod Rail Block to bridge the rods. I mount my H4n offset because the 5D Mk II is side-heavy when mounted.
