Wii Console with Mario Kart Wii Bundle - White

Wii Console with Mario Kart Wii Bundle - White

Nintendo dropped the price of their console to $149.99. The previous console package included Wii Sports and Sports Resort, and these have been replaced with Mario Kart and a Wii Wheel. Nintendo also rolled out a line of popular titles for $19.99. The titles include Nintendo Selects: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Nintendo Selects: Animal Crossing: City Folk,Nintendo Selects: Mario Super Sluggers and Nintendo Selects: Wii Sports. All of these titles are very good.

This happened on May 15th. The question is, all three systems are out and have motion-based gaming. Which console is best to purchase now?

I say Nintendo is an amazing system and still a notch above the rest, especially given the price drop.

Why? One reason is games. Nintendo has games that appeal to children, teens and even older folks (I'll get into that later). I have an Xbox 360 and PS3, but I find myself playing Wii more. Why you ask? I love my Xbox 360 for Halo/Modern Warfare and other FPS games. That said, when playing games with a group, Wii wins hands down. From racing Mario, Luigi and friends in Mario Kart to battling with Marth and Link in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Nintendo has cornered the market on group-friendly games. Plus, Nintendo has many of the same FPS like Call of Duty: Black Ops geared towards older gamers that the PS3 and 360 have. To top it off, Nintendo has accessories like the Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board that not only integrate gaming and exercise, but make it fun and user-friendly from 5 years of age on up.

Side-story: I bought the Wii for my parents who are in their early 50s. They thought it was a gag gift. A few days after I bought the gift I got a call, "You're father and I have taken up tennis and we love it!" I thought she was referring to playing tennis with a physical racket, they were referring to Wii Sports.

Who has the best motion-based system? Nintendo's revolutionary motion-based gaming was first to market. Now 360 and PS3 have motion-based gaming as well. All are impressive, especially the Kinect for 360. However, neither the 360 nor PS3 have a great number of games that use their motion-sensor equipment. Nintendo on the other hand has been out for years and has a huge number of games that are motion-based. Buy Nintendo for an established motion-based gaming library.

Graphics? PS3 and 360 win this hands down. Wii graphics are not superior to the 360 and the PS3. However, a visually beautiful/realistic game does not equate to being a fun game. When you are racing at top speed in Mario Kart, you are not paying attention to how realistic the environment is on the side of the road, you are trying to shoot your opponent off the road. Fun games make you pay attention to gameplay, not graphics and Wii does this.

Nintendo is a great system and at $149.99, this is a great entry point. Be sure to buy an additional Official Nintendo Wii Wheel (Mario Kart for 1 isn't as much fun without two players). You'll also want to buy another Wii Remote Plus Black and Wii Nunchuk Controller Black controller. The system only comes with one set in the box. Take a look at the titles that were reduced to $19.99. You can't go wrong with any of these games.

Hope this was helpful, have fun gaming!

I have spent $15k on photo gear in the last year, and this is my favorite purchase so far. I traveled with all of my gear to photograph a wedding in Cancun this past weekend and I couldn't have been happier to have this bag with me. It fit perfectly in the overhead compartment with room to spare, kept all of my gear safe and secure and fit almost everything.

I carried in this bag:

-one pro canon camera body

-70-200mm lens

-100mm macro lens

-85mm lens

-3 flashes

-1 flash transmitter

-flash bracket

-laptop

-external hard drive

-extra batteries, chargers, cards, etc.

I also had a small Kelly Moore bag as my "personal item" holding my other camera body with the 50mm lens attached, a 35mm lens and my passport, wallet, and cell phone. I loved being able to have all of my gear with me with no worries about safety or security.

i have just received this camera today. this camera's picture is really fantastic and fascinating.

Picture quality is really quite good. HD video is really nice. But remember for HD movies recording use large-capacity SD card rated SD speed Class 6 or higher unless movies can't record!!! At first i can record for 5 to 8 sec duration due to poor writing speed of my SD card. So, i was nervous as i added class 4 8GB SD. Finally it was ok. with class 10 SD card :P

I would recommend best buy and best worth DSLR in canon..

Camera setting are extremely simple and easy to understand for entry level shooter.

Just buy it !!!!!!! You won't regret..... around 1000 $ is worth !!

I had been looking for a review of this product for some time but found very little first hand experiences shared on the net. Therefore, I was on the fence about spending $250 for a piece of plastic. But since Amazon is the seller and will take it back if it doesn't work, I decided to go for it. I am an active seller of cameras and other small items on auction sites. My goal was to be able to easily make professional looking presentations of my items for sale. Up to now, I had been using a product called d-flecta, which is a seamless white background made by some kind of coated paper.

MyStudio is one big seamless piece of plastic. It arrived in a huge box. You get nothing else, no instructions, no nothing just the background. I must say that in only a few minutes, I was getting very pleasing results. The d-flecta always had plenty of hot spots from the flash, or other distractions that were a pain to have to work around sometimes. But MyStudio seems to work much better. Usually all I have to do is maybe turn up the exposure a little bit when I do my edits, and I am done. The MyStudio32 is plenty big enough for my purpose cameras surrounded by their accessories and packaging. It seems durable enough to last for years. If you are creative, there are probably a million fun things you can do with this product. But for me, it is a great time saver, and makes my product shots look professional and pleasing. Well worth the money. I recommend this product without hesitation.

I know that the D800 is not really the replacement model over the D700. Nevertheless, it did replace my old D700 and the D800 is, I believe, better suited for my photographic needs than the D700, i.e., studio, portraits, and landscape.

The D700 was and still is an outstanding DSLR. The D800 is of course better, but in a very perceptible way, which was quite a surprise to me.

I have done over 5000 shots since my purchase on 24 March. So far, no issues to report: no green cast from the LCD and no problems with the CLS system.

Nikon has really outperformed with this new DSLR and the clear improvements are:

Much improved Dynamic Range, which was my main problem since my first DSLR

Better colors straight off the camera: deeper and richer

Better AF in low light ***UPDATE*** After comparing with older Nikon DSLRs, this improvement is minor and only perceptible on cross-type AF points.

Highly detailed photographs at full res, 100% magnification and also when down-scaling the photos.

Let's not forget a proper and useable HD video feature at broadcasting quality. ***UPDATE*** Perhaps not broadcasting quality, but close enough.

On the negative side (there has to be some):

The zoom in and zoom out buttons are reversed from the old models, which is now more logical, but I am used to the old wrong way! it's a minor problem of course.

D4 has backlit buttons, why not on the D800? This can't be that expensive to include.

Very expensive Battery pack, this is a major drawback for me. But yes, the D800 is well priced at $3000. I just hate ridiculously priced accessories.

still wonder the point of having 1 CF slot and 1 SD slot. 2 CF slots would have been superb. But I guess if you come from a SD card DSLR, that would be practical for you.

Left AF points can suffer from front/back focusing issues on wide angle lenses, but this can be fixed at a Nikon repair center under warranty ***UPDATE***

One crucial point that has to be considered when acquiring a 36MP DSLR: storage will be an issue. I just purchased a 4TB ext hard drive. A 14-bit RAW file (uncompressed) coming from the D800 will average 75MB.

I just shot a wedding, and I consider the D800 to be an excellent choice for the job. All the complains about shots being more blurry at 100% magnification are irrelevant. One has to be precise with his/her settings, at the right exposure and optimal shutter speed, results can be absolutely mind-blowing. And since most won't need 36MP for wedding photographs, down-scaling images will certainly eliminate slight camera-shake or noise.

One particular aspect that I appreciate is that my Nikkor 85mm f/1.4G is now tack-sharp at f/1.4. I had a front focusing issue with my old D700 even with the fine-tune option set to max. Since I'm no techie geek, I still don't understand why the D700 gave me problems with the 85mm.

Anyway, I used to be one of those people saying that digital photography will never replace film photography. The D800 has changed all that.

This is the smallest tripod I've seen that is solid enough to actually use in the field, in my opinion. It folds very small and will fit in most daypacks. Of course, it doesn't bring the camera to eye-level for a 6 footer like me, but it does an adequate job of holding the camera still. It is well made and I've not had any mechanical problems with it.

Initially I had purchased the instax mini 7s from amazon and I really liked it, but the size and weight of the camera had always bothered me. Because this camera, the instax 25, uses 2 cr2 batteries instead of 4 AA batteries like the instax 7s its much smaller and lighter. I'm able to fit this camera in the instax bags you find on ebay with 2 extra packs of film whereas with the 7s i could only fit the camera due to its size.

Also when the 25 is used outside, the flash does not fire which is a definite plus when you dont want washed out photos. This camera also comes with a closeup lens which enables you to take close pictures without having to get too close. This camera also comes with an extra shutter button on the side of the camera in case you want to take pictures horizontally instead of vertically. The camera also comes with a feature that lets you either take lighter or darker photos. You can also control the flash somewhat by choosing whether you want the flash to be strong and highlight the background of the photo or you can switch it to landscape mode where i think it doesnt flash at all(not exactly sure because ive only used this option outside in bright light and the flash doesnt go off).

In order to really enjoy and appreciate these instant cameras you have to take a step back and appreciate them for what they are. Of course you can take a thousand pictures with a digital camera and print out 4x6 photos for 5 cents each, whereas each picture you take with the instax minis cost around 75 cents each, but its the appeal of having a photo seconds after you take it, and with these cameras each picture you take is one of a kind.

I have three CCTV day/night cameras all hooked up to my DVR. This unit plugged in and worked immediately. I set it side by side with one of my other cameras so they were shooting the exact same thing and this one is at least 2x closer maybe even more. I had them pointed towards the side of the TV in my room about 8 feet away from the cameras. The first camera had a wide field of view and showed a good portion of the room. This camera showed mostly just the TV. It filled almost the entire screen up. It has a very narrow field of view and the video looks very zoomed in.

This camera may work better shooting objects at a distance. It does not have anything even close to a 1:1 ratio as far as perspective. It looks more like if you were using a camcorder and zoomed in on the subject.

Depending on what you plan on taping this may or may not be the camera for you. I plan on using it for paranormal investigations and this camera will have to be used to film areas quite some distance from the camera (like a long hallway) or it will look like the camera was right on top of the area you are trying to record.

Also of note, of the 3 of these I have this is the only one that is plastic. It looks metallic until you touch it but it's plastic. Base does not lock very tight and it feels like if you force it you're going to regret it.

Giving it 3 stars for the extreme zoom issue and the fact that it's made of plastic. Haven't tested the audio aspect of the camera and don't really need it.

Let me start with a little "complaint" here: People are unnecessarily ruining the reputation of a perfectly good camera because they don't know what they are talking about. So, if you haven't owned/used a range of photographic equipment or have some knowledge/skill/abilities in photography, don't write a review.

Quick summery: It's a great camera for the price range. It is reasonable rugged, easy to use, and has good picture quality. If you want to buy this camera as a beater, glovebox camera or as your pre-teen son/daughter's first camera it is excellent.

Rebuttal to the earlier reviewers:

-First, you are expected to get a new memory card as you get a new camera. They are very cheap nowadays. Expecting a new memory card is like expecting having a full tank of gas in new car as you pull it out of the dealer's lot. It's nice, but the maker has ZERO obligation to do so.

-Some complains about pictures being too big. That's like someone buys a new big house then complains about the front yard being too big! Big file size is the function of a high quality image. Get yourself a new bigger memory, hard driver, etc.... There's no free lunch.

-Even the best digital cameras (I'm talking about cameras costing about 20x of this one) has problems with dynamic range (the "distance" between the brightest and darkest parts of a photo). As a photographer, you are obligated to watch for bright, harsh lights and take measures to solve the problem. I used the camera under many different conditions and I don't see this camera being overly bad in terms of dynamic range.

-I'm using a 16GB card and I can hold 3700+ pictures (a 16GB can be had for about $25 nowadays) so that should be enough pictures for at least a day's shooting.

I have been a photographer since high school, and worked as one in various capacities (weddings, event coverage, portraits, etc...)since. My last point-and-shoot was stolen in a car break-in so I will need a replacement.

General comment:

-Picture/optical quality: It's very serviceable. Of course, for its price the picture quality aren't as good as more expensive point-and-shoot and my DSLR (Nikon D7000). However, it's superior to any phone camera. The zoom range is decent, and the macro works well.

-Video: It can make 720P (HD) video and it's a sufficient quality for most purpose.

-One set of fresh fully charged AA NiMH batteries last at least for a day of shooting. I haven't collect any data on number of pictures per charge so I can't give anything more precise.

-Indoor/low light shooting: This is the area where ALL point-and-shoot will suffer. If you don't want to use flash in those situations, be prepared for grainy images. Again, this is common to ALL point-and-shoot so it's not unique for this camera.

Thumbs up:

-Uses AA batteries: You can buy AA batteries anywhere and you can use rechargeables AA batteries. No expensive proprietary rechargeables batteries to buy.

-Small and light: It fits into a shirt pocket, cargo shorts pockets easily. It is bigger in terms of volume than the smallest cameras on the market but it is very light.

-Ergonomics: Buttons are big and legible. I can operate most controls even with my fingered cycling gloves on. The shutter button is big and feels good to the finger. All controls are where you expected them to be.

-Noise level: The motors operates almost silently so it's good when you have to use the camera in discreet environment.

-Menu layout: If you are previously a Canon user, it is the same as before. However, it added addition help statements to tell you want each function does.

-Auto-focus: As for any Canon, the auto-focus is fast and accurate.

Thumbs down (mostly very minor):

-The battery cover can come off if you handle the camera wrong once in a blue moon. You can always use some tape to tape the door down if that happens too often.

-Lacks Aperture Priority/Shutter Priority modes. Theses are more advanced functions that Canon took out for this entry level camera. That's a bummer for more advanced users. If you don't know what I am talking about, it's ok as it won't affect you one bit.

Final Words:

If you want a cheap, "beater" camera, or the first camera for a pre-teen that runs on AA batteries (highly recommend using rechargeables), it is a fantastic camera!

I have only ever taken pictures with my cell phone and those cardboard wind up cameras from the drugstore. I am the historian of a local club, and this camera was purchased because of that. I have been wanting to get a digital camera for some time, and was a little hesistant to make this much of an investment, but I took a chance and ended up loving it. I haven't been able to give it a real go 'round, but so far, it takes crystal clear photos (IMO, but I'm no pro, lol) and the interface, while a little confusing at first, is really easy to navigate. Believe it or not, I read the get started manual AND the Advanced manual on the disc included from beginning to end, and it's very informative. It does assume you already know what some terms mean, though, so be prepared to look outside the manual if you are a true beginner with anything but a simple point-and-shoot.

As far as the bundle, I've not tried everything out yet, but the extra battery was an awesome inclusion. I'm thinking I'll probably go through battery life fairly quickly when I pull it out for meetups. The full size tripod seems sturdy and it's easy to use. The table top tripod is super cute. The little tripod, screen protectors, swabs and lens fluid come in a little separate package (like a kit) and the lens fluid leaked all over the inside of the bag. Thank goodness everything in there was wrapped in plastic. The bottle was only half full out of the box, but I'm not all that upset by it since it didn't get out of the bag the little kit came in. The wallet is neat-o, and the memory card does the trick. The bag is just about the perfect size, but don't expect to put anything in the main compartment except the camera and strap, especially if you are going to be adding a lens hood or filters to the camera that stay on all the time. The side compartments fit the memory card reader, microfiber cloth, swabs, extra battery (while stored in the wall charger) and the back mesh pocket holds my mini tripod. I might have to get a bigger bag, but for now it holds everything. I might even just use it for my accessories and keep the camera in the case I got from Mega Gear: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009Y68R0Q/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Overall a great product and I would buy again from Cardinal Camera. (they even include a coupon for prints from their shop!)

I bought this for a front facing camera on my vehicle, I did not want to use my phone anymore especially with all the new cell phone rules. I wanted a front facing video camera the is out of sight out of mind yet if I need to look at something I can it records time and date also sound and has great picture quality. It arrived on time with great customer service with personal notes attached making sure everything arrived on time and in perfect condition, most companies that I buy from do not send personal notes with info if anything is wrong and this company did. The exception to that is when I buy plants and seeds they like to know how there products are doing. The camera works with video and with still shots, it is recording when you record it noticeable and un noticeable. you can turn the viewing monitor off and the video camera keeps recording and or you can turn the monitor on and watch what you are recording. I then tried several things and they all worked, first I took the memory card out and downloaded all videos and pictures to my computer, then I watched all pictures and video on device itself, I then took memory card and plugged into my vehicles monitor and played back, I then directly connected my computer to the device and watched and downloaded everything onto my computer. I have a 4TB hard-drive that I keep all my pictures and video on. I recommend a separate Hard-drive from your computer to store all your memories forever. Great product and Great Quality. I will update this as I have it since I just got it yesterday. I want to see how it reacts over time and in different weather and temperatures I am from IL. So right now the Temps are in the 90s with very high humidity. I want to try and see how it reacts to winter and fall, different changes in temperature

Don't be put off by bad reviews. Any camera can be a lemon, but mine has worked perfectly and was well under half price, so lots of camera for cheap. The 21mm wide angle is really handy creatively, or just for cramming in lots of people or other subject matter, and the 12x zoom covers a lot of range. The touch screen is intuitive and amazingly sharp (1,152,000 dots, the highest resolution around, and it's 3.5" so it's huge!) I've take some stunning hand-held flowing water shots at 1/6 of a second (that's right, 1/6th of a second!) and the image stabilization works beautifully. Those micro-SD cards are so tiny, but they hold 122 superfine shots on a 1 GB card even at the highest resolution of 14 megapixels. I shoot most of mine at the "fine setting" at 5megapixels resolution and can get over 600 shots on that same card! (Though I seldom wait for more than two dozen or so before I put them on the computer, but for travel that capacity would be handy.) This is my first touch screen unit, and I love the touch screen, much easier to use than a button menu camera. If you use a smart phone, you'll find this camera is a breeze.

I bought the camera for it's wide-angle capability and it's long zoom range, thus, It's a great landscape camera. I'm buying a twin WB 210 to use for stereo (3D) action photography, a fun specialty niche I'm enjoying.

I use this lens on a Canon T3i. It works great for what it is(the fisheye effect gets pretty boring after a while). After weeks of watching it, I found one on ebay for $215 shipped. Both the focus and aperture rings adjust smoothly but the focus is pretty much pointless since fisheyes' are designed to take massively wide/distorted images. Optically, it functions exactly like the standard/clicked aperture version, I uploaded 2 images I took with this lens, but if you want more examples of how your photos will turn out go check the examples on the FE8M-C. The viewing angle is extremely wide (167 degrees on Canon, 180 on all other mounts) I still get my fingers in the corners of photos regularly. The lens is full manual, but doesn't take much time to get comfortable with.

I gave it 4 stars because the built in hood on the lens obstructs the built in flash on my camera (the FE8M-C has the same hood, the HD8M-C has a removable hood and doesn't obstruct the flash) and the images could be a tad bit sharper.

Overall, if you want a fisheye for both still images and video this will work wonderfully. If you want to save money you will probably be fine with the "clicked" version even for video.
