I have to admit that when I opened the package and started playing with this camera I was a little intimidated and thought I might have to send it back for being just too much camera for me. I'm such an amateur photographer that's it's not fair to the real amateurs for me to categorize myself with them. I went from a point and shoot that I loved to a bridge camera that I hated and made the jump all the way to the EOD 60D. I was looking for a camera that would snap pics quickly, took sharp quality photos, and allow me to blow up my photos and still look good. The quality if this camera is amazing, the neck-strap alone is higher quality than my mid-level bridge camera. I love love love that it has the "creative" modes and the "auto" modes. If I'm in a hurry I can use the auto modes or if I'm feeling brave I can switch to creative and get my craftiness on.

After I got over my initial shock and really started reading about the camera and applying what I learned, I was amazed by this camera. The speed, which was crazy important to me, is ridiculous. Trying to capture photographic moments of a rambunctious one-year old is like mission impossible. With this camera I'm actually getting these moments and the ones before and after!

The lens is amazing, there are several other packages out there that offer different lenses, I highly recommend this lens package, the 18-135 with IS is phenomenal, most of my shots come out crystal clear, the zoom is great, and the IS is a life saver. The only pics I've had come out with any blur were at night, at a parade, of a one-year old wiggling in excitement at mach 8.

The package stuff is all great, I chose this kit because it didn't come with too much stuff, but all things I'll actually use. My only wish would be that the camera case were slightly bigger or might accomodating to a camera, lens (lenses) and the accessories, but hey if I wanted to be super picky about a case I should just order what I really want. Also the mini tripod seems flimsy, and I don't actually want to put my camera on it. This camera, especially with a lens, is heavy!

Last happy bit the shipping from this seller was light speed fast. I received it the day before (maybe even two days) before the first day I was estimated to get this kit.

I'll try and update as I get more familiar with the camera, but so far I'm incredibly happy!

Olympus E-10 4MP Digital Camera w/ 4x Optical Zoom

Ok Wow.

In digital photography, all you need is good photo-editing software (the E-10 comes with Adobe Photoshop LE) and a good printer no eye-irritating chemicals and hours alone in the dark, like with film photography! Oh ya, and a good camera!

Using the E-10 is functioning on a whole different plane than anything I've used before (digitally, Kodak and Sony in the $800 $900 range). The control is total. The product is eye-popping. What pictures! I'm producing 13x19 inch prints of amazing clarity. And although there is still quite a bit of effort involved the comfort level and the amount of ultimate control over the product is astounding. And it all starts with the E-10.

To the hand, the fit and feel are unmistakably that of a 35mm SLR. Of course, there is no f-ring, and no gnarled knob dedicated to shutter speed control too bad, I thought at first. But with some adjustment to thinking, there is an easy (actually, easier!), total control of these functions and so much more. The zoom and focus rings are the smoothest I've ever used (and I have a couple of lenses for my 35mm that cost more than this camera).

I also have the 0.8x and the 1.45x lens attachments, for wide and telephoto (or 28mm and 200mm, respectively, in a 35mm format camera). Lens extenders exaggerate chromatic aberrations, flares and distortions and they certainly reduce the speed of the lens fairly dramatically, among other things. Regarding the Camedia extenders, though there is a reduction in speed, it's absolutely negligible. And for image quality, I performed some tests photographing newspaper (a great test pattern, believe it, or not) and found nothing to complain about quite the opposite. This is really good stuff. Not perfect, but very, very good. The quality of the lens on the camera, on the other hand, may as well be perfect. Similar, but more precise tests performed against this lens just made me smile. There are some flares and barreling under certain circumstances, but nothing absolutely nothing to complain about. The contrast and brightness-uniformity (condensing) of the image are as good as you can get without spending a lot, like on some of Canon's Flourite lenses.

Overall, the experience is just great. The designers thought of everything. This E-10 is easier to use, and fits the hand better than any professional grade camera I've ever used.

Just a couple more notes: The optical viewfinder is bright. The shutter release is perfect for handheld, low shutter speed shots in that it requires only a very light touch (but there is good travel to prevent premature release). The CCD is noise-free at any contrast (some owners claim noise at higher contrast settings, but I haven't experienced this. Perhaps, Olympus had dealt with this by the time I purchased mine). The LCD monitor really comes in handy with its multi-position feature in making waist level and over-head shots.

Olympus suggests that this camera will eliminate the need to ever return to film format cameras. I definitely agree. Digital photography really is a revolution. And this particular camera really is the beginning of the revolution as far as cost/quality combination is concerned.

Contour ROAM2 Waterproof Video Camera (Black)

This is my first Contour camera, and I was lucky that just at the time I decided to get one, the new ROAM 2 came out. The reason I like the ROAM2 over the original ROAM (which can now be had much cheaper) is for the 60 fps filming in 720p. This will produce smoother video, especially if you like to use slow motion effects now and then.

The ROAM 2 comes in attractive packaging and includes: 1 profile mount; 1 rotating flat surface mount; lanyard tether; USB cable; lens cap; 4GB MicroSD card; storage pouch and lens cloth.

Initial tests of the ROAM 2 in 720p @ 60fps and full HD 1080p @ 30fps are very impressive. At 720p you will have a view angle of 170 degrees, which gives you a wide panorama but some fisheye effect (to be expected at that width). In 1080p the view angle is reduced to 125 degrees, which still gives a nice wide view, but much less fisheye. The quality of the video image is very good. In full 1080p it is ultra-sharp and the colors are very good. The automatic white balance in the camera is also extremely good, and will self-adjust to present very true colors even indoors.

Operation of the ROAM 2 is very simple, via the one large "On-Record / Off" button on top of the camera. The mounting options available for Contour cameras is very good, but still could be a bit better. They have the snow and water sports covered, as well as skateboarders, bikers, etc. But I intend to use mine primarily to capture POV video from shooting sports, and there is still a lack of good mounts for that. A mount designed for a hat bill that would allow the Contour to lie flat via the rails would be perfect...

The rotating lens and built-in laser line make it easy to set the camera to frame a perfect shot, no matter what angle you mount it. I accidentally turned off the laser in the software and thought it was broken, until support at Contour provided me a quick response and helped me figure out that I am an idiot (my word, not theirs). Previous ROAM had two laser dots for leveling, the ROAM2 has a solid line, similar to home improvement tools.

The ROAM 2 has a standard ¼" x 20 tripod socket already on it so no need to buy the Universal Mount Adapter (which I did, and now have no need for).

To set up the camera, change configuration options (such as selecting recording quality), you use Contour's software "Story Teller", which is easily downloaded and pretty simple to install and get using. Now, here is one thing I don't like about the ROAM 2 you must use the software each time you want to change resolution of video. To do this, you must be connected to your computer via USB. So, if you're out in the world enjoying your camera, you are stuck with whatever setting you made before you left the house. There is NO option to select different modes via the camera itself. Given the designed purpose of the ROAM 2, I find this to be a bit lacking. Perhaps that is a feature on the more expensive versions of the Contour camera...

So, my first impressions of the ROAM 2 are very good. The quality of the video image is fantastic, the camera could not be more easy to use, and the software is pretty good too.

After a couple of full days of using the ROAM2, this camera performed flawlessly. Used it to capture POV video of a shooting match and attached it to my ear protection. The mic in the ROAM2 is very good much better than any other camera I have. It was so easy to use the on/off button to begin and end each segment of recording from a postion where I could not see the camera. The quality of the picture is superb (I shot at 1080p today).

UPDATE: After weeks of using this camera in real life action sports and other activities, I like it more and more each day. I am amazed at the quality of indoor picture also no yellow or green cast very natural light and it picks up everything very brightly. I find myself using 720p more often now, not only because of the economy of storage space but for the smoothness of the video if I want to go "slo-mo" from time to time. I would gladly buy this camera again... in fact, it might be nice to have TWO!

A couple tips: The 32GB microSD card does work fine in the ROAM2, and I've never even come close to filling it up. Secondly, if you're looking for some of the more exotic mounts and Amazon doesn't have them in stock go directly to the Contour website. I ordered two mounts from them and they shipped quickly and only charged $2 for coast-to-coast shipping. Some of the merchants here wanted $10 for shipping.

Sharp LC-60C7500U 60-Inch Class Aquos 1080p 240Hz Smart LED HDTV

I looked at a lot of televisions at a bunch of stores, did some research, looked at prices and ended up purchasing the Sharp LC-60C7500U. The picture is very good but suffers from a problem I noticed in a lot of large wide-screen TVs: The details in faces tend to be sort of wiped out and featureless, like everyone is wearing pancake stage makeup. This is highly dependent on the source, too, and doesn't always happen. But it happens enough to be mildly annoying. I find that the 240 Hz (augmented to 480 Hz by Aquamotion) accentuates this flaw, so for most viewing, I turn all this stuff off. I was watching a nature show about leopards and the spots were kind of swimming around as the Aquamotion tried to blend the pixels to hide any jitter. I also usually turn off automatic contrast control. It makes the screen get noticeably brighter or darker, depending on the scene, and is, again, mildly annoying. However, for watching sports or other fast moving sources, these features work great.

The sound is very good, with enough bass that I usually don't feel the need to run audio through my stereo system. It doesn't get very loud, but loud enough for viewing. Since it is advertised as 35W, it seems they could have put some speaker terminals in the back to allow secondary speakers, but apparently no one does this.

As mentioned before, I find myself adjusting picture quality a lot. This will surely taper off as I get more used to what settings I like, but for the time being I have to keep the TV remote close by. One thing I am finding that has to be adjusted is zoom and stretch. You can pick which format you want, but you can't simply turn it off and rely on whatever the source provides. So when I switch from TV to DVD, I have to fiddle with the controls to make the screen look right, depending on the movie. "The King's Speech" requires one setting, while "Casablanca" requires another.

Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. In retrospect, I could have purchased a 55" and been just as happy, but I'm not bringing this one back.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I am a long term Canon user and my current stable of camcorders includes a HV20 and HV40 both of which I prize for their extensive manual controls, their HDV recording, and the use of tape which acts as an natural archival mechanism.

The PJ790V was an exciting departure from my normal routine, and I used it exclusively on a recent trip to St Louis, MO to watch my son's high school robotics team compete at the Robotics World Championships. Over 3 exciting and exhausting days, I put this camcorder through its paces.

Here are my thoughts.

This is easily one of the most comprehensive camcorders I have ever come across in over 25 years of videography.

In an embarrassing abundance of riches it combines:

1] an astounding amount of internal memory (96 GB. Really.)

While the jaw-dropping 36 hours recording time is only achievable on the lowest quality setting; even at full 60p HD you get a still-awesome 7 hours. See below for notes on Recording Modes.

2] a wide and fast Zeiss 10x zoom lens (26-260 mm/F1.8-3.4)

3] mind blowing optical image stabilization technology. At the Robotics World Championships, I shot hand-held, indoors, at full zoom from the nosebleed section of the Edward Jones dome and the images were still spectacular, with hardly any camera shake (except for wild pans in my excitement.) Check out footage in the first comment below this review. This is unbelievable OIS quality.

4] built in 100" projector(imagine that!) with a 1.6' throw distance and WVGA resolution (854x480)

5] a microphone separated from its body to avoid the camera noise that plagued my HV20

6] Navteq-supplied GPS for most places you are likely to visit including North America, Europe, Japan, and Oceania. Unfortunately, it does not do navigation, traffic, or weather :)

7] PlayMemories Home software lets you trim, split, and combine videos; grab frames for stills; and to share your creation. I found it to be a very intuitive video organizer/editor and great for when you can't be bothered to load up a full editor.

Some minor quibbles:

1] The touch screen takes some pressure to register. I initially thought I had a bad touch screen!

2] The zoom rocker has a perceptible delay when the camera is first turned on, which is distracting when you need to get going quickly at a sporting event.

Conclusion:

This is one of those cameras that you can simply start using, right out of the box. It is that intuitive. I was blown away by its SteadyShot system the image stabilization is truly best in class. When you view the clip in the comment below, remember that this was shot by a tired and excited parent, whooping like a kid, in indoor stadium lighting, often at full zoom. The focus is sharp, the images are clean, and the microphone clearly captures the videographer's very vocal enthusiasm. At its highest PS video quality (see Recording Modes section below), you get stunning video that needs to be seen to be believed.

Add in its clear and bright LCD that I could easily use even in bright daylight; elegant design touches such as the USB cable integrated into its hand grip; the attention getting lens hood; and reasonable power consumption (even the tiny NP-FV50 lasted me an entire day), and you have a winning performer.

I'm more conflicted by the presence of the GPS and projector features that are great attention grabbers, but ones that I'll probably never ever use.

Recording modes:

Sony uses video quality abbreviations PS, FX, FH, HQ, and LP that I'm clarifying for others who may be as confused as I was:

There are 4 aspects to recording video bit rate (the number of bits captured per second, in Mbps), the number of pixels in each video frame (full HD 1920x1080, or 1440x1080), frame rate (the number of frames recorded per second), and whether these frames are interlaced or progressive (whether each frame is captured in full, or whether the odd rows and even rows are captured separately.)

For highest quality capture: pick the highest bit rate, the highest number of pixels in each frame, the highest frame rate, and use progressive mode.

For the HDR-PJ790V this is [PS] quality up to 28 Mbps, 1920x1080 resolution, 60 frames per second, progressive.

The downside? All those bits take up a lot of disk space, reducing available recording time. Switching to FX or below, causes more aggressive compression that can cause compression artifacts in fast moving scenes.

My advice: stay at PS. Why compromise on quality? Just pack a external drive, and clean up space as you go.

Now, I'm done :)

Postscript: And, the East Ridge Robotics Ominous RaptorS? They ranked 20 out of 100 teams in their division (Newton). The kids had a great learning experience and the parents cheered themselves hoarse. What could be more fun! Next stop for the team the MN state championships in May!

Windows 8 apps are a welcome change from iOS. Among the three ecosystems, I prefer Android, Windows 8, and iOS in that order. Blackberry, what ?! For ease of use, Windows phone is really easy to use. For someone interested in a first smartphone, Lumia 920 is an excellent choice. I got access to few Windows 8 phones to review. I will try to review them, but since I have not used for a period longer than a month I am not reviewing for reliability. User interface in Windows 8 is very pleasing and this is one of best phones with awesome user experience. If you prefer great user experience over infinite hackability, aka Android, then Windows 8 phones are great choice.

The Lumia 920 has a stunning 4.5" IPS LCD, 1280x768 resolution, 332 ppi display. This phone has up to 32 GB storage and 1 GB RAM. 8.7 MP camera and a 1080p HD Video. 1.5 GHz dual core processor. I have extensively used in the past HTC Titan I and II which is pre Windows 8 (7.5) and I was surprised it has become more buttery smooth now. This phone has Gorilla Glass 2. Glass 3 is in the making and supposed to be even better. Stating following because this is highly underrated in reviews. From Corning's Gorilla Glass specs; WHAT MAKES GORILLA GLASS SO DAMAGE RESISTANT? The unique composition of Gorilla Glass allows for a deep layer of high compressive stress (created through an ion-exchange process). This compression acts as a sort of "armor," making the glass exceptionally tough and damage resistant. Ion exchange is a chemical strengthening process where large ions are "stuffed" into the glass surface, creating a state of compression. Gorilla Glass is specially designed to maximize this behavior.

Lumia 920 does not support microSD expansion. I always feel this is a bummer. But with 32GB it is plenty with current app ecosystem. These phones seem to be copying iPhone philosophy. Battery 2000 mAh Lithium polymer battery (Compared to a high end Android Galaxy Note II, which has a battery of 3100 mAh Battery.) Unlike the Nokia Lumia 820, the Lumia 920 doesn't have a removable battery cover, which means you can't access or replace your battery. __Not having a storage expansion slot is a bummer for lot of people! Not being able to remove battery is a double bummer.__ For me, storage expansion and removal of battery is very important, so I was disappointed. This is the downside the unibody design. Wireless charging is a big plus, though!

Phone quality was excellent and speakerphone was awesome. Nice to see built in active noise cancellation with a dedicated mic. Nice to see Lumia 920 has Bluetooth 4.0. Bluetooth low energy (BLE), known as WiBree, is a subset of Bluetooth v4.0 with an entirely new protocol stack. As an alternative to the Bluetooth standard protocols that were introduced in Bluetooth v1.0 to v3.0, it is aimed at very low power applications running off a coin cell. I was able to get excellent reception with Bluetooth headset, Jaybird Sportsband Stereo Bluetooth Headphone Bulk Packaging Midnight Black and JayBird BlueBuds X Sport Bluetooth Headphones Midnight Black All the usual smartphone stuff, facebook, twitter, music, emails etc are all excellent. It is only the third party apps that are lacking in some arenas. If you are Microsoft heavy like Office suites, Lumia phone are awesome!

Apps are limited in Windows 8 marketplace. Yes, we have heard this a gazillion times. Lumia has GPS receiver with A-GPS and GLONASS support. I tried with Garmin Navigon app which turned out to be great in giving voice directions. App ecosystem is a chicken and egg situation. Unless more phones are sold, developers don't have incentives to write apps. Apps are less now, because people are not buying in big droves. Windows Phone is now (early-mid 2013) the third-leading mobile phone platform, more than tripling its market share year-over-year. One recent report I read Android and iOS are ahead in games with 162.1 and 37.4 million shipments in 1Q13 and Windows phone came in 7 million. This is more than double from previous year. I really hope for Windows 8 platform to surge ahead because having a 3 way competition with iOS and Android is good for the ecosystem.

ONE LINE SUMMARY: The Nokia Lumia 920 is certainly the best Windows Phone 8 smartphone on the market right now.

Passable voice quality. (Maybe it's just because it's GSM technology, and coverage is not fantastic in outside of cities.)

Slim profile, though a little heavier than my previous handset

Nice colors in screen. Great ringtone sounds. Though these are pretty standard nowadays.

Decent bluetooth range. Paired this with a Jabra BT800 headset and I can run into the coin laundry with my ear piece and still connect with the phone in the car outside.

THE BAD

Short battery life. 7 hours talk-time as advertised is a imaginary. Phone starts to beep after 2-3 hrs of talking.

Organizer (calendar, alarm, notes, contacts) doesn't sync correctly with Outlook.

Oily screens!! The inside and outside screens and the metallic keypad get oily fingerprints after every use (is it just my skin?!) Looks yucky and kinda destroys all the aesthetics.

Tried wiping now and then but notice minor scratches start to accumulate. (My clothes are not always cotton and I don't usually carry eye glass cloth.)

Low camera resolution. Other new phones have close to twice that resolution. Pics always kinda dark.

Camera doesn't take video.

No MP3 or radio. Some of the newer Nokia and Sony models are close to iPod Shuffle capacity already.

Recently i purchased a Bushnell Velocity Speed Gun to test out it's accuracy. I have been in law enforcement since 1985 & i am certified in the use of radar.I read several reviews from customers on how they were dissatisfied beacause their radar gun did not work properly for one reason or another. My partners patrol car has a MPH radar & i decided to see just how accurate a Bushnell hand radar compared with it.I have 2 different speed tuning forks to test my MPH with & tested both of them on the Bushnell as well.The Bushnell tested accurate & gave the correct reading on both tuning forks i tested with.i then took it on the road & compared it against my partners MPH radar system against oncoming traffic & it worked as well matching vehicle speed with my MPH as well.

Although i used it on traffic,it should work on any moving object such as baseball,softball,tennis balls etc.Just remember that these objects are of course much smaller than a vehicle & you must be in direct line of sight to the object to get a true & accurate reading of speed.I would reccomend this particular unit to anyone interested in purchasing one.

I followed this product all over the net to try to find a more insightful look at this product.

I found plenty of download links (it is made by a company called Swamiware, (not much of a comfort), however this product deserves an honest description, because after all, who doesn't dream of having their own (real) polygraph test, to use at their own whim? This product, while impressive in that it uses all of the usual connections to attach & monitor your 'subjects', including two (2) skin galvanization finger monitors that gauges increased/decreased perspiration, one (1) finger-style pulse monitor (for detecting your subject's heart-rate), and finally, a breathing apparatus that is strapped around their abdomen to detect respiratory functions as the test is being administered, so you have EVERYTHING that a standard polygraph examiner has in THEIR professional repertoire.

Bottom line, for $69.99 you will get a box full of all of the above-mentioned features and after installation, you are essentially an unlicensed 'polygraph examiner' and the results are nothing short of amazing...! By law, it has to be advertised as being used strictly for entertainment purposes, but don't let that hold you back for an instant, this little gem will astound everyone involved (and I am a born skeptic).

The few things I miss are a half-decent instruction manual, but it has a small learning curve and the more you test people, the better you get. The software provides spine-tingling evaluations that will keep you busy for many, many hours of usage not to mention totally freaking out your friends every time you analyze them!

If you use Vista, expect some issues, mine seemed to crash frequently until I put it on a machine with XP or lower OS platforms.

That said, I highly recommend USB Polygraph Lie Detector, even if you just use it at parties, people will go home talking about it's amazing properties. While I wouldn't use it to base furthering my relationship with my wife and/or significant other, or to use it as some sort of investment decision tool but it is bound to produce some incredible results that's guaranteed to influence your friends and associates in how they ultimately decide to phrase things to you in the future... Truth or False, put someone you know in the 'Hot Seat' and have a blast revealing the truth, which is often stranger than fiction! You will be in possession of all the tools that a professional polygraph examiner has, for a fraction of the cost.

Here's several tips and techniques I have for all you potentially new unlicensed examiners:

First, ask the question, then watch what happens to their body after you've questioned them. I found spikes that went right up means the subject is thinking and as long as the spikes were up, the subject is thinking about his answer (count those spikes to reveal how many times they went into deep thought, the wider these peaks are, the longer the subject was thinking about your question. Now, if the spikes go down, that almost always told me that either the subject was trying to use countermeasures to throw you off, or that they we're not being truthful. Voila...! Please send me $5 because You are now an unlicensed polygrapher...! lol

Hope my review helped someone out there, who's been looking at this product like I was. Forget the Presidential Version, it's not something even worth considering and I don't even like the concept as opposed to the normal version and should never have been produced, in an effort to cash in on the older, more venerable & already-passed Presidential election. Get the normal version and you'll be happier with your new purchase than you possibly imagined. I am, anyways...!

It's now October, purchased this in July.

It's still absolutely horrible!

Someone questioned YouTube on this tablet; forget it! This tablet still freezes, it's a nightmare. BUT I am happy to say tomorrow I am going to the store and purchasing an iPAD !! So happy. I used one this weekend and can't believe what I've been missing. I'm telling you this android tablet is not just slow. It shuts off even when battery is full. And you can see battery drain within the hour as you use it. I cannot open emails. Forget Facebook, cannot even scroll down. Check your local stores; prices have come down, on android and ipads.

The negative reviews I read on this product are completely true. Constantly freezes up. Power on and try to open an app, it shuts off. EXTREMELY slow, but that wasn't a priority. I am not enjoying using this tablet at all. Today I sent for the return package paperwork, and I would have to pay international rates to CHINA ! Not exactly sure cost of that, but looks like about $25 at minimum, and I read something about a customs certificate for an additional cost. So, I am stuck with this poor quality tablet. If you still want to purchase this item, please also know the battery life is very poor, maybe 2-3 hrs at best.

I bought this camera after encountering couple idots on the road who were looking to create an accident. Also, saw a bunch of clips on youtube about accidents in Russia. This device will help provide objective picture for some complicated situations on the road. Might even help another person who got into accident in front of me.

Video quality is amazing in daylight and quite good at night. The camera is small (good for inconspicuous mounting) and very light. I liked the long power cable which allowed me to install the camera in my Odyssey without any visible hanging wires -it looks very professional.

I've put 32Gb (max allowed size) in it and it should be able to hold 2-3 days worth of recordings. Afterwards the oldest clip gets overwritten with latest. The camera records .avi files with 3 minute recordings.

I recommend disabling shock sensor for driving mode or you'll end up with a lot of false "Event" recordings after hitting pretty much any bump. "Event" recordings stay on the card and don't get auto-erased and this will lead to eventually full SD card. With disabled shock sensor this won't be an issue.

After reading a few theoretical reviews, I thought I would post a very early review based on one whole day of using my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (which I've updated a couple of times). I've rated it overall 4*, which is 5* for the Tab and 3* for a premium price. There are certainly less expensive tablets, but I think this one really does have class-leading features. It's up to you whether you think the features justify the price or whether you want to wait for the next better-faster-cheaper version.

Not much to say about the design, it's a slab but the build quality is excellent and it feels very solid. I bought this specifically because it's a 7" form factor, and I wanted portable and pocketable which this delivers. I've posted a picture of what's in the box, it's just the tablet, charger and cable [see photo on the product page]. Don't plan on learning much from the "manual", which is a tiny little booklet. One thing I can't say is whether it has Gorilla Glass like the original Tab. I hope so, but Samsung doesn't say much as Amazon shipped before the release date -heck, Samsung won't even let me register it yet. The screen quality, brightness and resolution is excellent although I did wind up disabling auto brightness as I thought it kept things a little dark. Easily fixed by manually setting the brightness to about 60%. The auto setting was probably to save battery life, which seems excellent. Charged to 100% this morning, and after a day of light usage (web browsing, wifi on all day, an hour of music listening, dozen or so apps loaded, 15 minutes of navigation) I still have 51% remaining after a day of usage. [11/6] I'm still happy with battery life, but I will say watching Netflix looks like it would only last about 4-5 hours.

Honeycomb with this tablet is extremely responsive, and I didn't find Touch Wiz intrusive. Actually everything pretty much just works the way you'd hope. GPS and Google Maps worked great, got sat lock in only a few minutes sitting on the passenger seat of the car. Local driving, but Google Maps cached enough that nav worked great. [11/6] In answer to several comments, the GPS works without wifi. Google Maps caches some local coverage, and there are standalone nav apps that have broader coverage. If traffic updates are important, you won't get them with no wifi.

Tried the camera, it's point-and-shoot cellphone quality but nothing approaching even my Lumix camera let alone a DSLR. [11/12] But apps like Barcode Scanner and Skype make good use of the cameras. The touchscreen is very responsive, and Netflix and Youtube looked great on my home wifi. No problems at all with any of the apps I downloaded, they all ran and looked great. [11/12] The 1.5.14 Pandora update fixes my previous UI complaint, so Pandora now looks as good as it sounds. If you want to pretend to buy this for work with a clear conscience, I also setup the built-in VPN client and was able to load a free RDP application (Pocketcloud) from the Android market to access our Windows servers just fine. [11/12] The Peel Smart Remote folks never answered their email support form (why bother to have it if you don't respond?), but their 1.2.6 update did deliver basic support for my Time Warner/Motorola DVR so I've now had a chance to use the built-in remote. The personalized program guide is nice and I might actually use it. But the remote functions supported are pretty basic so I'll still be using my Logitech Harmony maybe they'll create an app!

If you're looking for a smaller tablet with all the bells and whistles, I think you'd be happy with this one.
