This product is well made with lots of features that you don't need if you use it as a basic camcorder monitor via HDMI but missing features that are important to all users. The display is high quality. 1. I discovered the hard way that the battery will not charge from the unit. You have to buy a separate wall charger and remove the battery. 2. The unit has no battery meter or warning for a low battery. I use the biggest Sony NPF970 battery possible because the unit will just shut off when the battery is exhausted. The battery lasts for hours but it makes the monitor heavy and clumsy. A smaller battery would be better 3. There is no direct plugin on the unit for the 24 Volt DC power supply. You have to use the bulky harness that is provided which has a DC input jack. 4. The monitor is too heavy with the NPF970 battery to mount to a consumer camcorder hot shoe socket. It works best when attached to a tripod leg. The monitor does a great job as a camcorder monitor. If they came out with a basic HDMI model with the battery monitor and without the other options it would be much lighter. Nothing is perfect!
