Zeiss 100mm F/2 Makro Planar ZE Manual Focus Macro Lens
I've owned some very nice lenses from both Canon and Nikon for use with both crop and full frame cameras, and I'd have to rate this Zeiss Makro as a favorite above all others, perhaps in a tie with the Nikon 85 f1.4 G. Not only is it very nice for macro imaging (though you should be aware of 1:2 ratio), but easily the nicest full frame portrait lens out there. I'm not sure how Zeiss pulls it off, but the colors have a different, more "intimate" feel, than most glass, with an excellent level of sharpness without the harshness that digital images can often carry. Some may miss the autofocus (I feared I would), but most will quickly become adept with the smooth MF adjust, and you're going to be manually focusing in macro mode anyway. Exceptional build quality, with a nice heft. Pricey, but you'll love it, and Zeiss glass retains value very well for resale, if for some silly reason you choose to part with it.
