This star rating is based only on the 430EX II flash unit. I have used it on several occasions and it performed exceptionally well, similarly as other raters have noted in their ratings. I was disappointed that the head only swivels 270 degrees, not covering the right rear quadrant. I may have purchased the next level of flash unit had I known that before I purchased it. Of the items in the kit, I have not tried the bracket accessory as yet. The diffuser seems well made and fits snugly. The batteries are stamped as being 3000 miliamphours (mAh), but when they were half discharged, I gave them a gentle discharge/recharge on my Lacrosse Technology battery reconditioner/charger which registered them "Full" at less than 500 mAh, so I would not rely on these as your only batteries. The little plastic battery holder is actually quite useful.
