This was our first DSLR purchase, and it has been a great buy so far. A friend recommended the Pentax brand. And based on the feedback at DPReview website, the K-5 II seemed like a good choice. Easy to operate menus, the "auto" settings work great for us until we have learned more about the settings.
I was warned about some camera sellers having gray market imported cameras. This could result in problems with getting any warranty or service work. And another thing I was warned about was the possibility of slipping in cheap aftermarket lenses into the kits. Anyhow, this is NOT a problem with Big Value. The camera they shipped us appears to be US market. And the lenses were all original Pentax lenses. I called Big Value a couple of times during this purchase process, and they were easy to get in touch with, and answered my questions well. Overall, I think it was a good deal just for the camera and lenses.
The camera itself came with a decent bit of accessories. Wall charger, carrying strap, etc. The accessories kit that was bundled with it included a second carrying strap, a few more batteries, memory card, external flash, filters. The carrying case it came with is padded, with compartments for the body and lens, and side pouches good for accessories.
We have been very happy with the camera. As the reviews stated, the operation is straightforward, menus easy to navigate, etc. The pictures themselves have all turned out great in "auto" mode. Image stabilization seems to work well too. This is one purchase I have had no regrets about whatsoever.
