This is an excellent camera for getting into the world of photography and DSLR's. It's super user friendly, very intuitive, and works well in almost every setting. While night-time photography is not one of it's strong points, with some additional learning you can still get really good night pictures. I only mention this because there isn't a "setting" for it, but if your good enough to work the manual controls it will still do exactly what you want.
Almost every single item in the bundle is extremely useful with one exception... The mini desktop tripod. Even with the just standard lens attached, the tripod instantly squashes flat under the weight of the camera. While I thought that was pretty ridiculous, the mini tripod works excellent for our little point and shoot digital camera, so it's no big deal for us really.
The regular tripod works pretty well, although it's a bit wobbly when fully extended, but after doing more research on other tripods, that seems to pretty much be the standard unless you spend $100 or more on one. It does have a level on it, and also has a quick release which is extremely helpful. So all things considered, it's a pretty good tripod.
The telephoto and macro lenses are a great additional as well for the first-time photographer. I've spent hours dinking with the different lenses and options that you can use with them and I still have more to learn.
The included cables and card accessories are awesome too... I can connect the camera or memory card to just about anything in almost any way that's the most convenient at the time with one small exception (of course). The mini-hdmi cable used in conjunction with the HDMI control in the camera doesn't seem to connect to our big flat screen tv for slide shows. It's not the biggest deal since I can easily move the pictures to my laptop and connect that to the tv for a slideshow and that works fine.
All in all, it's a great bundle. I didn't give it 5 stars due to the small issues that I had with the tripods and the HDMI cable/control, but for the price, this is an awesome deal for anyone looking to get into photography.
