Rear View Camera System For Chevrolet Express Vans

This is an excellent back up camera. Having the camera inside the third brake light results in a clean installation. It works well in day light and at night, with coverage in the large area directly behind my van; an area that I can't see in the mirrors. I installed the display on the headliner directly above my inside mirror; out of the way but easy to see. My only complaint is that the kit comes with 20m of video cable. Ten meters would have covered any installation possibility (in this vehicle specific kit). And the cable cannot easily be cut and spliced. So finding a place to stow all of my extra 15m cable length was a challenge. The camera may be triggered by the back up lights if you choose. However, connecting it this way means that you can never turn it on to check your trailer while driving. I connected the trigger wire to the power wire so that the camera comes on every time I start my van. After using my mirrors and the camera to make certain that the area around my van is clear, then I reach up and turn off the camera. I can turn it on again any time the van is running.
