This lens is a recent purchase so I can't vouch for the long term construction quality, but I can say that the barrel extends with just the right amount of tension and without any sloppy movement. And, unlike some reviewers' opinions, I find the push/pull manual focus control very convenient compared to groping for the switch on the side of most lenses. Focusing is fast and I'm getting sharp images on my Nikon D5100. The focal range is quite versatile since it goes from ultra wide into the 'normal' range. So far, Lightroom does not have Lens Correction to support this new product.
